Ducati, a high-performance scooter in the future?

Voices on one side, chatter on the other: both speak clearly about the same thing. What? The Italian motorcycle manufacturer from Borgo Panigale, Ducati, is reportedly considering the possibility of creating and marketing a new two-wheeled vehicle with an engine. Which? According to some sources, the manufacturer could develop a scooter: the rumor is not new, but dates back to last year, when the Ducati Marketing Director, Diego Sgorbati, hinted that, among the paths to be taken for the development of the brand, there is also that of a scooter.

Now, don't be scared: according to other rumours, it would not be a small motorcycle with 50 cubic centimeters of displacement, also destined for broadband marketing due to its price range, but rather a maxi-scooter worthy of the Ducati soul. In the same way, that is, as what was already imagined by BMW, with the Concept C, presented at the 2010 Milan Motor Show, and by Honda, with Mid Concept, also shown at Eicma 2010. A high-performance scooter model, therefore, it would be almost ready: momentarily, it remains to decant in the Ducati cellars, before its debut, which could take place on some occasion during the coming year.

According to this chatter, the Borgo Panigale motorcycle company is also considering developing some electric motors, even if for now nothing has been done yet. One possibility: that's all. This ecological choice by Ducati, therefore, remains a mystery.
