Ducati – The “Race of Champions” which brought together the champions of yesterday and today from Ducati was not only the main event of the 2018 edition of the World Ducati Week. At the end of the race won by Michele Pirro (here you can find the news) the 13 Ducati Panigale V4 were auctioned on eBay.

The V4 is on sale… on eBay

Maybe it's because of the special colours, the illustrious pilots who drove them or the media hype, the fact is that the auction turned out to be a real success. After the checks and administrative procedures that follow the purchase offers for an auction on eBay, all thirteen Panigale V4 S (12 of the race in addition to the one prepared for Chaz Davies, who was injured on the eve of the WDW and was unable to participate) were awarded. The lucky ones did not win a normal V4, but bikes characterized by an exclusive livery inspired by the graphics of the bike used by each rider in MotoGP and SBK. On the steering head a plate shows the driver's name and his race number. The indelible autograph placed on the tank by each driver and the certificate of authenticity, signed directly by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding and the rider himself, give further value to each bike. A series of special components used during the "Race of Champions", as well as all the original parts, including exhausts, necessary for approval for road use, enrich each motorcycle.

Troy Bayliss wins at the auction

The auction was very eventful and from the first bids, there was great interest in Troy Bayliss' motorbike, which generated a real upward race, reaching a record bid of 120.000 euros. Equal attention was paid to the motorcycles of Dovizioso, Melandri, Lorenzo, Pirro e Petrucci, who received offers between 40.000 and 62.400 euros, followed by those of Miller, Davies, Rabat, Fores, Abraham, Rinaldi, and Simeon.
