Ducati SuperSport 950: aerodynamic style and new liveliness for 2021 [PHOTO]

The lateral openings resemble the gills of a shark. Sculpted, clean, longing for air, like those of a being ready to dominate on its own path. The new Ducati Super Sport 950 proposes a new sporting attitude for a varied audience that loves dynamism.

Features

The hulls shaped by Ducati Style Center and compliance with the Euro 5 regulation are some of the highlighted aspects of the model. The vision appears to be a concentration of fluidity and dimensional compactness, starting from the connected fairing up to the terminal area, partly recalling the sporting refinement of the Panigale range considering both the distinctive front light cluster full LED with DRL, and the side vents that recall the double extractor of the powerful V4 sports car. The lower fairing then reaches the silencer part. Overall, vision is strengthened by a “I see, I don't see effect”.
The overview of control systems is based on the presence of a 6-axis inertial platform from Bosch which detects various parameters including different solutions: Bosch Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO e Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, therefore a solution Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) up/down EVO for gear changes. A system was also mentioned Ride-by-wire. The parameters are in turn linked to the Riding Modes: Sport, Touring e Urban. The instruments are displayed on a screen TFT da 4,3 inches prepared for a Ducati Multimedia System (DMS).

Technology

The motorcycle features a steel trellis frame linked to the engine heads which acts as a structural element. There is also a rear saddle support frame also made of steel.
The injection-molded front subframe is redefined and integrates new attachments for the rear-view mirrors.
The suspensions are adjustable. In the front area there is a Marzocchi fork with 43 mm stanchions, while at the rear there is a gravity-cast aluminum single-sided swingarm and a Sachs shock absorber which includes management of the spring preload and the hydraulic brake in extension.
In the case of the version SuperSport 950 S. Öhlins adjustable suspension features, starting from a front fork with 48 mm stanchions with TiN treatment followed by a rear monoshock with integrated gas tank. On the two versions it is possible to insert an Öhlins adjustable steering damper.
The braking system connected to a customizable Bosch Cornering ABS system consists of a Brembo system with two 320 mm diameter discs and Brembo M4-32 monobloc radial calipers which act via a Brembo self-bleeding radial pump with separate tank and manageable lever in the area front. Behind it is a 245 mm disc associated with a two-piston caliper. The picture is completed by three-spoke alloy wheels that define a "Y" measuring 3.50 x 17 at the front and 5.50 x 17 at the rear.
The saddle is placed at 810 mm high and, considering the triangulation with semi-handlebars and footrests, the riding position is purely sporty. The passenger portion is spaced from the footrests and padded, but in this case you can opt from the range of Ducati Performance accessories for a saddle equipped with greater padding overall. The curb weight amounts to 210 kg, according to the information.
The Ducati SuperSport 950 is offered only in Ducati Red which also covers the frame, while the SuperSport 950 S can also wear an Artic White Silk colour.

Motor

The unit Testastretta 11° 937 cc Euro 5 It presents a renewed and high-performance character thanks to interventions on the engine control system and exhaust system. The peak power is 110 horses at 9.000 rpm with a maximum torque of 93 Nm at 6.500 rpm. There is an oil bath clutch with interlocking and anti-hopping system, therefore there is a six-speed gearbox. Among the accessories we mention two Akrapovic® titanium exhaust systems, one of which is approved with carbon fiber heat shield and another of the racing type with an increase in thrust at medium speeds of 5% and a weight reduction of -4,6 kg according to the instructions.
