Ducati Superleggera V4: a powerful heart [VIDEO]

Recently, in another video proposed by Ducati, attention was paid to the design of the exclusive Superlight V4. This time the engine is the protagonist.

Performance grit

It turns out 224 horses the power expressed by the unit Desmosedici Stradale R that animates this sports car. A thruster V4 di 90° da 998 cc low weight, combined with an Akrapovič approved exhaust. The data can increase to 234 horses with a titanium Akrapovič system included in the reported Racing Kit. Estimating a dry weight of 159 kg, i.e. 16 kg less than a Panigale V4, the power/weight ratio basically amounts to 1,41 HP/kg; while with the racing kit in light of the indicated 234 horsepower and a weight value of 152,2 kg, the ratio becomes 1,54 HP/kg, taking the information.

Design and technique

In total 500 specimens. The mechanical, electronic and aerodynamic parts are interesting, observing the biplane appendages which recall the studies done on the 2016 Ducati MotoGP. The vertical load is 50 kg at 270 km/h (20 kg more compared to the solution adopted on the new Panigale V4 and on the Panigale V4 R), taking up the indications.
Several elements stand out, all functional in this new gritty expression of power signed by the Borgo Panigale specialists. We also note the use of carbon fiber for the frame, swingarm and wheels, but also the use of titanium and magnesium for other components. Functional choices keeping in mind weight reduction. The luminous signature is distinctive, the aforementioned presence of materials that strengthen aesthetic vision and dynamic qualities, various details that offer an equally powerful aesthetic result.
