Also available in the V4 S and V4 SP2 versions

The new family Ducati Street Fighter V4 is presented in the fifth episode of the web series Ducati World Premiere 2023. Together with the models Street Fighter V4 e Streetfighter V4 S, the exclusivity is also present Street Fighter V4 SP2 which represented a further development in the evolutionary path of “Fight Formula”.

Ducati Streetfighter V4 and Streetfighter V4 S 2023

A concept that follows the evolution of Panigale V4, characterized by aspects that recall the sports car although stripped of the fairings and with high and wide handlebars, biplane wings and latest generation electronic package. The weight is limited to 178 kg and the powerful Desmosedici Stradale heart is more noticeable.
The sportiness of the new Street Fighter V4 is highlighted by the standard single-seater configuration, with passenger seat and footrests supplied as standard.
The minimalist style is projected forward with the connotative full-LED light signature and the V-shaped DRL which recalls that of the Panigale V4 but also the figure of the Joker comic book character. A luminous signature that stands out when looking at the low and extended front. Also highlighted are the muscular and sculpted features of the da tank 17 liters, a larger element also embraced by new covers on the sides. The tank follows the dimensions of the one introduced on the Panigale V4 2022, whose shapes are designed to support the rider during braking and cornering.

The matching colors are a classic Ducati red and a new livery “Grey Black”, an elegant contrast between a gray color and the black variations of the components, available only for the V4 S version.
There is also a large range of accessories to accentuate its sporty character, starting with a Ducati Performance full-racing exhaust system by Akrapovič, designed for use on the circuit. It features silencers raised and close to the tail, resulting in an overall weight reduction of five kilos and a maximum projected power of 220 horsepower. The noise level is within the limit of 105 dB, or 102 dB using the dB killer.
Also indicated are mudguards, aero kits, frame and crankcase protections in carbon fibre, billet aluminum controls, approved silencer kits and also tire warmers and stands for enthusiasts who love to go to the track.

Relevant electronics

The evolution of the new Streetfighter V4 continues following the course undertaken with the Panigale V4 also from a technological point of view. It features a dashboard featuring revised graphics and gear shifting is suggested through an external green LED indicator. The dashboard offers the view mode “Track Evo” which follows the layout used on the Desmosedici MotoGP, giving a quick view of the crucial information and the action of the electronic controls.

The Power Mode logic has also been implemented with calibrations dedicated to the Desmosedici Stradale engine associated with the Streetfighter models. There are always four delivery strategies: Full, High, Medium, low. The first and last are newly designed and the other two reconfigured in the strategy. The Power Mode Full allows the engine to express its maximum power without electronic filters, leaving out first gear. Moving on to Power Mode High and Medium, a new Ride by Wire map management system is highlighted, with specific calibration for the different ratios (six in total). Power Mode Low is designed for driving in low-grip situations, limiting power to 165 horsepower and offering manageable response, as noted.
Among the new features, a new feature has been introduced Riding Mode Wet for more optimized driving on low-grip surfaces, just as a lithium ion battery is located for the V4 S version with a low weight of 1,7 kg compared to the previous one, already included in the Streetfighter V4 SP model.
Among the various electronic changes, there is also an update to the cooling fan control strategy, in order to offer better management of operating temperatures and thermal comfort already on the road.

The evolution is also underlined by the new software Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO 2 to refine the stability and dynamism of the model, as well as precisely define the electronic setup as needed. The software is made unique by the different calibration, ratio by ratio, on each of the three recallable levels. The new strategy was designed to optimize the intensity of the engine braking based on the load in the rear area. In the first braking phase, with little load on the rear tire, the EBC EVO 2 requires less engine braking, intensifying it as it approaches the center of the curve, where the intervention of the engine brake offers the highest contribution in braking the bike and close the trajectory. A modification that favors a more balanced intervention of the engine braking control and, moreover, the rear wheel locks are reduced during more intense braking phases, as suggested.
There is also a new strategy for Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) with better fluidity in gear changes whenever the accelerator is pressed, when it is partialized and when it is fully open, managing both situations differently.
In gear changes with partial throttle, the strategy operates through an injection cut or with an advance reduction, making the change more fluid in road use with the absence of switching off and on again.
In those with open throttle, when riding on the track, the DQS strategy is refined with progress in the torque restitution phase in order to give stability to the bike and a homogeneous thrust useful from a performance perspective.

Technology

The motorbike is equipped with a frame “Front Frame” and the superstructures are quite contained, highlighting the essential, streamlined and sculpted features of the bike.
Even when talking about the chassis, it follows the evolutionary path of the Panigale V4 family. Together with the aforementioned Front Frame and a single-sided swingarm, both in aluminium, an upside-down fork and a mechanically adjustable shock absorber on the V4 variant stand out.
Il swingarm pin of the new Streetfighter V4 is raised by 4 mm, increasing the anti-squat action which promotes higher stability, together with precision and the ability to maintain the trajectory when exiting corners and in every phase of progression.
The weight distribution is moved towards the front axle, loading it further to increase precision and speed in insertion.
On the Streetfighter V4 S model, however, there is semi-active Öhlins suspension with a 30 mm NIX43 upside-down fork and TTX36 shock absorber, as well as a SmartEC 2.0 interface. On the Streetfighter V4 S variant, the rims are Marchesini forged aluminum alloy which offer greater agility in changes of direction and greater reactivity in acceleration and braking given the containment of unsprung masses. The curb weight of this version amounts to 197,5 kg, according to the information.

Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP2 2023

At the top of the range and in numbered version (the progressive number is visible on the handlebar and reported with the laser), the new one Street Fighter V4 SP2 represents the maximum expression of the "Fight Formula" for 2023. An example projected on the track, given the exclusive technical aspects with "SP" specifications.

This version features a robe “Winter Test”, defined by the Ducati Style Center taking inspiration from the Ducati Corse bikes used in the pre-season tests of the MotoGP and WorldSBK series. The superstructures are covered in a matte black colour, associated with the matte carbon finish of the rims and wings, furthermore the vision is accentuated by the contrast obtained thanks to the bright red details and the brilliant tone of the exposed brushed aluminum tank. Appearance also visible on the side covers of the radiators.
Among the interesting factors, one is linked to the Desmosedici Stradale STM-EVO SBK dry clutch with a refined anti-hopping function, even in the most decisive downshifts and superior fluidity in the "off-throttle" phases, suitable for obtaining high performance on the track.

Also noteworthy are the Öhlins suspensions with springs and hydraulics identical to those of the Panigale V4 and the equipment also includes adjustable aluminum footrests machined from solid material which favor the lean angle and allow the rider to find the ideal position in the saddle, so such as a carbon front mudguard and accompanying elements that can be used during "track days" on the track, for example the cap for removing the license plate holder and the screws for removing the mirrors and the open carbon clutch cover.
Finally, this version is equipped with Brembo Stylema R® front brake calipers to achieve robust stopping power, along with consistent performance when riding for a long time on the track and also of carbon fiber split five-spoke rims, 1,4 kg lighter than the forged aluminum ones placed on the Streetfighter V4 S with a containment of the moment of inertia of 26% at the front and 46% in the rear area, making the bike even more agile and light in movement.

Motor

The engine Desmosedici Stradale 1.103 cc is revised in the calibration based on the larger diameter of the silencer outlet, introduced to attenuate the exhaust back pressure. On the right side is the clutch crankcase of the Panigale V4, being able to adopt the dry clutch and the clutch crankcase protection. In configuration Euro 5 the power reaches altitude 208 horses at 13.000 rpm with 123 Nm of couple.

Availability

The new specimens Ducati Street Fighter V4 e V4 p will be offered in European dealerships from January 2023instead Street Fighter V4 SP2 will come from March 2023.
