The new Ducati Street Fighter V4 was recently introduced in the fifth episode of web series Ducati World Première 2023. In the video proposed for the occasion by Ducati, on YouTube, the variant is the protagonist Streetfighter V4 S. One of the versions of the new family, together with the exclusive Street Fighter V4 SP2.

A roaring new naked

In the video you can hear the powerful voice of this model, which suggests a strong character. An evolved concept following what was done with the Panigale V4, distinguishable because it has no fairings, with high and wide handlebars, biplane wings and a latest generation electronic package. There is also a powerful Desmosedici Stradale engine in evidence and the weight is low 178 kg.
The minimalist style is projected forward and the full-LED light signature and the V-shaped DRL stand out, reminiscent of that of the Panigale V4. The muscular and sculpted features are linked to other more streamlined ones, among the new features there is also a larger fuel tank 17 liters embraced by new side covers. The tank follows the dimensions of the one introduced on the Panigale V4 2022, whose shapes are designed to support the rider during braking and cornering.
The sporty concept is also underlined by the standard single-seater configuration, with passenger seat and footrests available as standard.
A full one is also proposed range of accessories to accentuate its qualities, starting from a Ducati Performance full-racing exhaust system by Akrapovič, designed for use on the circuit. It features silencers raised and close to the tail, resulting in an overall weight reduction of five kilos and a maximum projected power of 220 horsepower. The noise level is within the limit of 105 dB, or 102 dB with the adoption of the dB killer.
Also indicated are carbon fiber frame and crankcase protectors, mudguards, aero kits, billet aluminum controls, approved silencer kits, as well as stands and tire warmers for enthusiasts who love to go to the track.
The colors are classic Ducati red and a new livery “Grey Black” for the Streetfighter V4 S version only, the protagonist in the film, which is the result of a targeted contrast between a gray color and the black variations of the connected elements.

Technological aspects

The instrument graphics are revised with an external green LED indicator associated with gear changes. The dashboard presents the view mode “Track Evo” which follows the layout used on the Desmosedici MotoGP, giving a quick view of the crucial information and the action of the systems.
The evolution of the model is also highlighted by the new software Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO 2 to improve stability and dynamism, as well as precisely defining the electronic setup. A different calibration is highlighted, ratio by ratio, on each of the three recallable levels. The new strategy was designed to refine the intensity of the engine braking based on the load in the rear area. In the first braking phase, with little load on the rear tire, the EBC EVO 2 uses less engine braking, maximizing the action as it approaches the center of the curve, where the intervention of the engine brake offers the highest contribution in brake the motorbike and close the trajectory. An aspect that facilitates a more balanced intervention of the engine braking control, as indicated; Furthermore, the locking of the rear wheel during more intense braking phases is reduced.
There is also a new strategy for Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) with better fluidity in gear changes whenever the accelerator is pressed, when it is partialized and when it is fully open, managing both situations differently.
Then implemented the logic of Power Mode with calibrations dedicated to the Desmosedici Stradale engine associated with the Streetfighter examples. There are always four delivery strategies: Full, High, Medium, low (power limited to 165 horsepower). The first and last are newly designed and the other two reconfigured in the strategy.
The new features also include a new Wet Riding Mode for more optimized riding on low-grip surfaces, therefore a lithium ion battery for the V4 S version with a low weight of 1,7 kg compared to the previous one, already included in the package. Streetfighter V4 SP model.
Among the various electronic changes, mention is made of an update to the cooling fan control strategy, in order to offer better management of operating temperatures and thermal comfort.

Technical aspects

The frame is of type “Front Frame” and the chassis follows the evolution undertaken with the Panigale V4 range. In addition to the Front Frame and single-sided swingarm, both made of aluminum, there is also an upside-down fork and a mechanically adjustable shock absorber on the V4 variant.
On the specimen Streetfighter V4 S, instead, there is semi-active Öhlins suspension with a 30 mm NIX43 upside-down fork and TTX36 shock absorber, as well as a SmartEC 2.0 interface. On the Streetfighter V4 S variant, the rims are Marchesini forged aluminum alloy which offer greater agility in changes of direction and greater reactivity in acceleration and braking given the containment of unsprung masses. The curb weight of this version is 197,5 kg.
The swingarm pivot of the new Streetfighter V4 is placed 4 mm higher, increasing the anti-squat action which promotes greater stability, together with precision and the ability to maintain the trajectory when exiting corners and in progression.
The weight distribution is shifted towards the front end, loading it further to increase precision and insertion.

Thruster

The engine calibration has been revised Desmosedici Stradale di 1.103 cc, considering the larger diameter of the silencer outlet, introduced to attenuate the exhaust back pressure. On the right side is the clutch cover of the Panigale V4, in order to adopt the dry clutch and the protection of the clutch cover. The power reaches 208 horses at 13.000 rpm with 123 Nm of torque, in Euro 5 configuration.
