Ducati Panigale V4: the S model and the sophisticated suspension part [VIDEO]

In this fifth tutorial we talk about “Öhlins Electronic Suspension Control”. As in previous episodes, the following intervene: Alessandro Valia, Ducati Official Tester and Carlo Ricci Maccarini, Ducati Superbike Development Team Leader. The attention is focused on the sophisticated suspension part combined with the Ducati Panigale V4S with Öhlins solutions such as an Öhlins NIX-30 fork, Öhlins steering damper with event-based system and Öhlins TTX36 rear shock absorber, as well as management linked to the second generation of the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 system with new OBTi interface (Objective Based Tuning Interface) . The splitting of the Race Riding Mode into maps with different configurations is also highlighted.
The electronic part includes a package with a more predictive latest generation Ducati Traction Control and a DTC EVO 3, as well as the use of a six-axis inertial platform. The braking system is high-performance with new self-bleeding brake and clutch master cylinders derived from the elements present on the exclusive Superleggera V4.
Among the interesting aspects is also functional aerodynamics, considering elements such as plexiglas, fairing, fairings and side extractors as well as connotative aerodynamic appendages. Considering these and the hull setting, we recall a vertical load increased by 30 kg at 270 km/h.
The frame is a "Front Frame" with a magnesium front subframe and an aluminum seat post and the Panigale V4 is combined with a 43 mm Showa Big Piston Fork with Sachs steering damper and an adjustable Sachs shock absorber in the rear area.
The model is evolved with standards Euro 5, taking into account the interventions on the exhaust line and the calibration of the drive unit with the same power and torque levels.
