The livery “Winter Test” it is a distinctive characteristic of the Ducati Panigale V4SP. In another video proposed by Ducati, thanks to different angles, the peculiar contrast between the dark appearance, the intense red details and the exposed brushed aluminum visible in the tank area is still highlighted.

The specialised farming model

The abbreviation SP indicates Sports Production, associated for the first time with the historic one Ducati 851, referring to the versions used for the development of competition models in the Sport Production Championship, forerunner of the Super Stock series. Today it identifies a production example with specific characteristics that make it even more effective in sporting use.
A motorcycle designed to take to the track which, together with the color inspired by that of the Ducati Corse models used in pre-season tests, includes other features such as a steering head machined from solid material on which the progressive number of the model appears.
Among the highlighted features are: a carbon front mudguard and functional accessories during track sessions, such as caps for removing the license plate holder and mirrors, an open carbon clutch cover and a Ducati Data telemetry kit Analyser+ (DDA+) with GPS module. We also point out the adjustable rider footrests in aluminum with carbon heel guards and interesting solutions deriving from the high-performance and exclusive Ducati Superleggera V4 such as the Brembo Stylema R® front braking calipers, Brembo brake master cylinder with MCS system and 5 split-spoke carbon rims ( 1,4 kg lighter than those on the Panigale V4 S). The instrumentation is visible on a TFT in color from 5 inches and there is also a saddle with a “V4 SP” logo.

The model is equipped with a frame “Front Frame” in aluminum alloy with optimized stiffness, therefore a 30 mm adjustable Öhlins NIX43 upside-down fork with TiN treatment of the legs and hydraulic brake with electronic management and event-based mode with Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 control. Behind it is a single-sided aluminum swingarm and an adjustable Öhlins TTX36 shock absorber, as well as a hydraulic brake always managed electronically with event-based mode controlled by Öhlins Smart EC 2.0. It features a powerful braking system with the aid of an ABS Cornering EVO system and also highlights a dry multi-disc clutch with hydraulic control and anti-slipping system with self-bleeding pump, combined with a final transmission with a 520 pitch chain. In the electronic overview they list Riding Mode and Power Mode, as well as Engine Brake Control EVO, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Traction Control EVO 2 and Ducati Wheelie Control EVO 2. The wheelbase amounts to 1.469 millimeters and the saddle figure a 835 mm high.

The heart

The motorbike is animated by a Desmosedici Stradale V4 da 1.103 cc, Euro 5, characterized by desmodromic distribution with 4 valves per cylinder, liquid cooling and counter-rotating shaft. An engine combined with a six-speed Ducati Quick Shift EVO 2 gearbox, but we also remember an exhaust system whose layout is 4-2-1-2 with two catalysts and four lambda probes. The power is equal to 214 horses at 13.000 rpm and peak torque of 124 Nm at 9.500 rpm. Thrust to be compared to a curb weight is 194 kg (considering a dry weight of 173 kg).
