Streamlined and evolved from a visual and technical point of view, the new one Ducati Panigale V4S he is the protagonist in a film that highlights his character. A video proposed by Ducati on YouTube after the presentation of the model in the fifth episode of the web series Ducati World Premiere 2022.

The motorcycle

The innovations vary from aerodynamics to electronics, from chassis to the engine. On the outside, new more compact wing profiles stand out, characterized by a double profile layout. There is an increase in efficiency with the same vertical load up to 37 kg a 300 km/h. In the lower area of the fairing there are also redefined extraction outlets to optimize the cooling and performance offered by the engine, especially when riding on the track.
Aesthetically it is characterized by a new graphic design defined by Ducati Style Center with black logos on the red-tinted fairings and on the S version the double fabric saddle is two-tone and you can also see red tags on the black rims.
Among the accessories present in the catalogue Ducati Performance include approved parts and others expressly defined for use on the track. Speaking of performance, racing exhaust systems can be adopted.
The ergonomics are also interesting, starting with a tank characterized by a new shape in the rear area, known as "fit", obtaining better support for the rider during braking, with reduced effort of the arms. Overall, a better insertion of the rider is favored, also optimizing the contact area of the arms during the hanging off phase, when one leans out in the center of the curve. Then the saddle, as noted, is flatter and has a different double fabric covering, attenuating the rider's tendency to move forward when braking and also facilitating movement.

Functionality and technical aspects

The new generation electronic package features a six-axis inertial platform that detects various parameters and controls that manage the different riding phases associated with four Riding Modes: Race A, Race B, Sport e Street. On the new instrument panel, characterized by a new distribution of the functions of the external warning lights, the various parameters can be seen and the advanced interface includes a new Info Mode defined by MotoGP riders and named “Track Evo”, added to the already present Road and Track.
The Desmosedici Stradale engine appears as a stressed element of the structural scheme and the aluminum Front Frame is directly anchored to it. Scheme which also includes a lightweight front subframe developed in magnesium and the seat post in shell-cast aluminium.
The new Ducati Panigale V4 features an adjustable Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) with a diameter of 43 millimeters with a Sachs steering damper and an always adjustable Sachs mono-shock at the back. The wheels are cast aluminum with a five-spoke design.
Moving on to the Ducati Panigale V4 S, this features a new Öhlins NPX25/30 pressurized fork with event-based electronic management, characterized by a pressurized cartridge damping system borrowed from that of Öhlins racing forks, minimizing the risk of fluid cavitation hydraulic compared to a traditional system.
The fork travel results from 125 mm, a figure that has grown by 5 mm compared to that fitted to the 4 Panigale V2021. The possibility of adopting softer settings is highlighted, given a spring stiffness that has gone up to 9,5 N/mm, offering greater confidence during the most intense braking and preserving a little margin compared to the bottom of the stroke, as indicated.
Then there is an Öhlins TTX36 mono-shock absorber and an Öhlins steering damper, always equipped with an event-based control system, being able to customize the intensity of suspension intervention based on the individual driving phases and vary the operating parameters of the individual hardware components. Aspects that represent a higher level of control of the motorcycle's dynamics.
The aluminum single-sided swingarm pivot is higher than 4 mm compared to the previous model with an increase in the anti-squat effect, i.e. a decrease in the sinking of the rear when exiting corners and when reopening the throttle.
The braking system includes discs with a diameter of 330 mm and Brembo Stylema® monobloc calipers with four pistons 30 mm in diameter each, while behind there is a single disc 245 mm combined with a 2-piston caliper.
The Ducati Panigale V4 S is equipped with 3-spoke forged aluminum alloy wheels shod with 120/70 ZR17 Pirelli DIABLO™ Supercorsa SP tires at the front and 200/60 ZR 17 at the rear.

Thruster

As mentioned, the powertrain is a Desmosedici Stradale. One unit from 1.103 cc in version Euro 5 and evolved for 2022 through dedicated technical elements. The engine, according to the indications, has been updated in the lubrication circuit, associated with a new oil pump that requires less power. The increased diameter of the silencer outlets allows attenuation of the exhaust back pressure and an increase in performance.
Furthermore, a new Power Mode logic is highlighted with four configurations: Full, High, Medium, Low and another significant innovation is the adoption of a new gearbox with a lengthened ratio for the first, second and sixth gears. .
The power touches i 215,5 horses at 13.000 rpm and the torque is 123,6 Nm (12,6 kgm) at 9.500 rpm.
