Ducati Panigale V4 2020: Aero Pack, technique and dynamism

The lateral offshoots, visible in the front area, characterize the new one Ducati Panigale V4. Symbiotic components of a “Aero Package” which characterizes the new creation of the brand.

The specialised farming model

A motorbike refined by the experts of Ducati Corse. A concept that includes sophisticated electronic equipment, such as a control interface OBTi (Objective Based Tuning Interface) or the presence of a system Ride-by-Wire in the varied overview of systems, therefore a high-performance braking system, a functional chassis considering a “Front-Frame” frame which refers to the specimen R and a volcanic V4 engine. The version S, with an indicated dry weight of 174 kg, respect to 175 kg of the specimen V4, features specific knobs, suspension and steering damper Ohlins Smart EC 2.0, evaluating a fork Ohlins NIX-30 and a rear shock absorber Öhlins TTX 36, then a lithium-ion battery and forged aluminum rims Marchesini. The saddle height amounts to 835 mm.
The engine from 1.103 cc offers 214 horses a 13.000 rpm and a pair of 124 Nm a 10.000 rpm.

The Aero Pack

The external definition of the new Ducati Panigale V4 is the result of the collaboration between Ducati Corse and Ducati Style Center, as indicated. From an initial phase of simulated experimentation through the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (also known as CFD technique), we moved on to the next one optimization, defining a model in gwind allergy. Strategy that follows what happens in MotoGP.
The aforementioned package is a set of components, in addition to the aforementioned monoplanar aerodynamic appendages, with a trapezoidal matrix and tapered towards the external area, also enriched by a longitudinal bulkhead called “strike” and an additional component at the end known as “winglet”, which maximize the incisiveness of the appendix by isolating surface air flows. These offshoots are made using thermoplastic material strengthened with glass fiber, as indicated.
Aerodynamic appendages and hull allow, always taking up the information, an increase in vertical load equal to 30 kg a 270 km/h, reducing the "floating" effect of the front wheel and intensifying braking stability, with further benefits from a dynamic and performance point of view.
The same package also includes a new plexiglass linked to a more generous fairing which shields the shoulders and arms more at high speeds in a straight line, and therefore redefined and wider fairings to act in synergy with the appendages, increasing their action and at the same time attenuating the air flow on the driver. There are also extractors on the side, which intensify the cooling flows of the water radiators (+ 6 %) and oil (+ 16 %), always following the directions.
