In 2001 Troy bayliss won the title in Superbike World Championship. 20 years later, that triumph is remembered with an example in a numbered series: the Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary.

A winning driver

The bike was presented during a special episode of the Ducati World Première, held at the Ducati Museum, on the track and at Troy Bayliss' home in Australia. On this occasion, in another film proposed by Ducati, the character of the specimen is highlighted.
The career of the Australian champion will also be remembered in World Superbike, on the occasion of the appointment in Assen. On Friday 23 July, at 13pm, the champion will speak in a virtual press conference at the Paddock Show together with Ducati Corse Sporting Director Paolo Ciabatti, recalling the salient phases of Bayliss' first world championship success, obtained on the Dutch track. Characterized clothes and sporty elements

The livery of the motorcycle features the colors Ducati red, Verde e White. number 21 it is visible on the sides and front, the Shell logo also appears. Among the characterizing aspects is also the champion's autograph on the tank, while the name of the motorbike and the progressive numbering are visible on the aluminum steering plate, machined from solid material.
The motorbike is equipped with sports grips, a rider's seat developed by combining two technical materials with double red stitching and with a number 21 embroidered in white and flanked by two vertical bands of green and red, then a cover of the terminal part of the silencer in carbon fiber and titanium. Also noteworthy are the self-bleeding brake and clutch master cylinders with smoked oil tanks.
La Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary it is equipped with Öhlins components: an NX30 fork and a TTX36 rear shock absorber designed to obtain high performance on the circuit, promoting sensitivity and support during riding phases. Through the adjustments, the calibration of the steering damper can be customized according to the style and characteristics of the track.
Compared to the standard model, the Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary is 3 kg lighter, considering the use of a lithium ion battery and a single-seater configuration, with passenger seat and footrests available in the supplied equipment, as indicated.

Technique and technology

The Ducati Panigale V2 is powered by an engine 955 cm³ Superquadro twin-cylinder, compliant with the Euro 5 regulation. The maximum power reaches i 155 horses at 10.750 rpm with a peak torque of 104 Nm at 9.000 rpm.
The controls are integrated into the three Riding Modes, opting between Race, Sport e Street; furthermore you interact via a display TFT in color from 4,3 inches.
The electronic package includes the "cornering" functionality applied to the Bosch ABS, the Ducati Quick Shift, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control control solutions regarding traction, engine braking and wheelie and there is an electronic gearbox which also works climbing.
