The new Ducati Multistrada V4, recognizable by its sculpted and distinctive style, is equipped with interesting technological solutions.

An evolved concept

Giovanni Landi, ABS & ADAS Engineer, intervenes in the film. One of the main innovations is the adoption of radar in the front and rear areas of the vehicle, as auxiliary devices. The front radar is associated with adaptive cruise control, while the rear one is concerned with vehicles present in the so-called "blind spot" or approaching at a high speed, according to the information.
In the technological framework, together with the full LED headlights with distinctive DRL light signature, there is also a TFT screen 5 inches on Multistrada V4 and from 6,5 inches with Ducati Connect and map navigator on Multistrada V4 S and S Sport. The package of solutions is varied, featuring solutions such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection and DTC, DWC, DQS, as well as the Cornering ABS system, latest generation Quick Shift, four Riding Modes opting between Sport, Touring Urban and Enduro. Also mentioned are Autolevelling, four Load modes depending on the load and over 400 parameter combinations for the semi-active Ducati Skyhook suspension considering the Multistrada V4 S and V4 S Sport versions.

The motorcycle

The aesthetic appears muscular and aerodynamic. An example also characterized by a symbiosis between a lightweight aluminum monocoque frame derived from the MotoGP experience and various other parts, keeping in mind the superstructures, deflectors, vents and the aforementioned light clusters which seem to be set. The components also include a two-element trellis rear structure, then a new double-sided swingarm and a 19-inch front wheel that define a fluid vision with compact proportions, as well as a 22-liter tank. Nearby there is a space where, for example, you can store a phone connected via Wifi or Bluetooth to the interactive system and the presence of a USB socket is noted.
The narrow central section of the model is functional, considering a more welcoming seat and a height adjustable to two positions, together with a refined exhaust from the point of view of the manifold and terminals with a single stainless steel silencer, double catalyst and four lambda probes, retrieving information.
Technically the motorbike is equipped with an adjustable front fork with upside down legs of 50 mm in diameter, while the solution at the rear is progressive with a monoshock, also fully adjustable with remote management of the spring preload and a double-sided aluminum swingarm. The wheel travel in the front area amounts to 170 mm, while in the rear it is 180 mm.
The braking system changes slightly between Multistrada V4 and Multistrada V4 S e V4 S Sport, keeping in mind two 320 mm discs in front with Brembo monobloc calipers with four pistons and two pads or 330 mm on V4 S and V4 S Sport with Brembo M50 Stylema® radial-mount monobloc calipers with four pistons and two pads with radial master cylinder. At the rear there is a 265 mm disc and Brembo two-piston floating caliper.
The wheelbase is 1.567 mm with a height from the ground of 220 mm (46 mm more in comparison with the Multistrada 1260, as mentioned) and the standard seat can be managed in two positions as mentioned at 840 and 860 mm with the possibility to adopt a lowered saddle with 50 mm of foam for a height of up to 810 mm. You can opt for a saddle increased in thickness, reaching 875 mm, as reported. 120/70 ZR 19 tires are used at the front and 170/60 ZR 17 at the rear.

V4 Granturismo engine

A heart with four cylinders arranged in a V with an angle of 90°. A 1.158 cc, Euro 5 engine, 85 millimeters shorter, 95 mm lower and 20 mm wider than a Testastretta DVT powerplant. The weight is also reduced by 1,2 kg, to 66,7 kg, as is the interesting value indicated for the valve clearance control interval at 60.000 km.
We report a power of 170 horses at 10.500 rpm and a maximum torque of 125 Nm at 8.750 rpm. Thrust to be compared to a dry weight of 215 kg (in the case of the Multistrada V4, 218 kg for the V4 S and 217 kg for the V4 S Sport). The gearbox has six speeds with Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down system.

The overview

Together with one Ducati Multistrada V4 in Ducati Red with black rims, the range includes one Multistrada V4 S in red or Aviator Gray together with glossy black wheels and red tag, opting between spoked or alloy wheels. Essential, Travel, Travel & Radar, Performance and Full configuration packages have also been developed and can be ordered from the factory. Then one Multistrada V4 S Sport with a Sport livery and glossy black wheels and red alloy or spoke tag, also considering a Performance package with carbon front mudguard and Akrapovič exhaust, as reported.
