Ducati Multistrada V4 S: interaction with Ducati Connect [VIDEO]

There are several technological aspects linked to the new one Ducati Multistrada V4. Speaking of the variant S, a film highlights the potential of connectivity.

Interaction and technology

Nunzio Romano, Mobile App & Connectivity Engineer, spoke on this occasion. Highlighted solutions such as Ducati Connect it's a cartographic navigator considering a display from 6,5 inches bound to Multistrada V4 S e Multistrada V4 S Sport. On Multistrada V4 the TFT digital instrument cluster results from 5 inches.
Solutions in the varied panorama of systems, considering a package with Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection and DTC, DWC, DQS, as well as systems such as latest generation Quick Shift, four Riding Modes opting between Sport, Touring Urban and Enduro; therefore Autolevelling, four Load modes depending on the load and over 400 parameter combinations for the semi-active Ducati Skyhook suspension considering the Multistrada V4 S and V4 S Sport versions.
Furthermore, one of the most interesting innovations is the adoption of radars in the front and rear areas, as auxiliary devices. The front radar is associated with the adaptive cruise control, while the rear one identifies vehicles in the so-called "blind spot" or approaching at a high speed, as already reported.

Technology

A motorcycle equipped with a monocoque frame lightweight aluminum derived from MotoGP experience and various components such as a two-element rear trellis structure, superstructures, deflectors, vents and light clusters set with a distinctive light signature DRL, lights full-LED and Cornering Light system on Multistrada V4 S and S Sport.
Also highlighted is a new double-sided swingarm and 19-inch front wheel that define a muscular and aerodynamic vision with compact proportions and a 22-litre fuel tank. Near this there is a space in which there is a USB socket, where for example you can place a telephone connected via Wifi or Bluetooth to the interactive system.
There is an adjustable front fork with 50 mm diameter upside-down legs and a mentioned progressive rear solution with a monoshock which is also fully adjustable with remote management of the spring preload and a double-sided aluminum swingarm. The wheel travel in the front and rear areas amounts to 170 and 180 mm respectively.
The braking system changes slightly from the Multistrada V4 compared to the V4 S and V4 S Sport, taking into account two 320 mm front discs with Brembo monobloc calipers with four pistons and two pads or 330 mm on the V4 S and V4 S Sport with monobloc calipers Brembo M50 Stylema® radial mount with four pistons and two pads with radial pump. At the back, a 265 mm disc and Brembo two-piston floating caliper are always visible. Always features a Cornering ABS system.
The wheelbase amounts to 1.567 mm with a height from the ground of 220 mm (46 mm more in comparison with the Multistrada 1260, as mentioned) and the standard seat can be managed in two positions at 840 and 860 mm with the possibility of adopting a saddle lowered with 50 mm of foam for a height of up to 810 mm. You can opt for a saddle increased in thickness, reaching 875 mm, as reported. On the wheels 120/70 ZR 19 tires in the front area and 170/60 ZR 17 tires in the rear.

variants

The proposal includes multiple versions, starting with one example Multistrada V4 in the same color Ducati Red with black circles. Model Multistrada V4 S, along with a red color, can also be coated in Aviator Grey with glossy black rims and red tag, opting between spoked or alloy rims. Configuration packages also indicated Essential, Travel, Travel & Radar, Performance e Full can be ordered at the factory. Finally the model Multistrada V4 S Sport and with a Sport livery and glossy black wheels and red tag in alloy or spokes, also considering a Performance package with carbon front mudguard and Akrapovič exhaust.

Motor

A powerful pulse four cylinder V arranged at 90° from 1.158 cc, Euro 5. The valve clearance check interval at 60.000 km is interesting.
The transmitted power is: 170 horses at 10.500 rpm and the maximum torque of 125 Nm at 8.750 rpm. Power to be compared to a dry weight of 215 kg (in the case of the Multistrada V4, 218 kg for the V4 S and 217 kg for the V4 S Sport). An engine combined with a six-speed gearbox with easy Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down.
