Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally: a new impulse that pushes further [PHOTO]

Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally it is one of the interesting new features of the Borgo Panigale brand for 2023, which further extends the horizons of the Multistrada proposal.

The specialised farming model

The motorbike is combined with two color options, choosing between a look Ducati Red or an alternative livery Brushed Aluminum & Matt Black. The latter is distinguishable by an exposed aluminum tank.
The proposal also includes three different setups AdventureRadar with the functions of Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection; Adventure Travel & Radar which also includes heated grips and seats as well as aluminum side cases, therefore full adventure which, in addition to the aforementioned equipment, also includes a carbon fiber front mudguard and an approved Akrapovič silencer.

Considering the possible presence of a passenger, the refinements that strengthen comfort in the saddle include a redesigned windshield with increased 40mm in height and 20mm in width, as well as an elongated tail with a rear attachment for the suitcases, thus favoring greater space for the passenger in the leg area, also taking into account the footrests with a larger rubber insert to reduce the level of vibrations. Furthermore, the saddles with different heights for the rider and the passenger and a lowered suspension kit make the model adaptable to different torque configurations and, to further amplify comfort from a thermal point of view, the conveyors in the leg area can be partitioned preserving the heat deriving from the engine during the coldest periods. The motorcycle is equipped with spoked rims with black channel.

Technological aspects

In the twenty years of evolution, remembering the 1100, 1200, 1260 specimens up to this fourth generation, the Multistrada proposal has been embellished with various innovations such as the DVT variable valve timing and Riding Modes, but also other interesting technological solutions such as the semi-active Skyhook suspension and the recent adoption of radar in the front and rear areas to support the Adaptive Cruise Control systems and Blind Spot Detection, as well as sophisticated extended deactivation.
The new model is equipped with a instrumentation on a 6,5-inch color TFT screen with map navigation functionality thanks to the Ducati Connect application as well as semi-active suspension with increased travel of 200 mm, a Skyhook DSS EVO control strategy even more efficient, wider footrests for the rider, reinforced engine protection and, as mentioned, spoked wheels with a limited weight. There is also a Riding mode Enduro with Power Mode aimed at off-road.

Speaking of active safety, theABS cornering which allows the use of braking force even when leaning, Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL) which intensify visibility in the evening hours, Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC). Solutions that act with an inertial platform (IMU), the action is optimized based on the lean angle and pitch.

Motor

The engine that powers the new one Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally it's a V4 Grandtourism da 1.158 cc and the power reaches i 170 horses. One is highlighted new deactivation strategy extended to the entire rear row, even when moving at low speeds, with a low rotation speed and low torque demand. Together with the rear cylinders being switched off at idle with the bike stopped, the rear bank of the engine remains deactivated in other operating conditions. A technical solution introduced for the first time on a production motorcycle.
