Ducati Multistrada V4: look dedicated to ergonomic adjustments [VIDEO]

Ergonomics is the topic covered in the film proposed by Ducati in which we talk about Multistrada V4.

Regulations and dynamism

Carlo Viganò, Technical Training Manager, spoke on the occasion. The example is equipped with a lightweight aluminum monocoque frame derived from the MotoGP experience to which various components are associated such as: a two-element rear trellis structure, deflectors, superstructures, vents and light clusters set with a distinctive DRL light signature , full LED lights and Cornering Light system on Multistrada V4 S and Multistrada V4 S Sport.
Standing out is a new double-sided swingarm and 19-inch front wheel that define a muscular and aerodynamic vision with compact proportions, also noting a 22-liter fuel tank. Nearby there is a space with a USB socket, where you can place, for example, a telephone connected via Wifi or Bluetooth to the interactive system.
On a technical level, the presence of an adjustable front fork with 50 mm diameter upside-down legs and a mentioned progressive rear solution with monoshock absorber, also fully adjustable with remote management of the spring preload and double-sided aluminum swingarm, is highlighted. The wheel travel in the front and rear area is 170 and 180 mm respectively.
The braking system is slightly different between the specimens Multistrada V4 and versions Multistrada V4 S e Multistrada V4 S Sport, considering two 320 mm front discs with Brembo monobloc calipers with four pistons and two pads or 330 mm on V4 S and V4 S Sport with Brembo M50 Stylema® radial-mount monobloc calipers with four pistons and two pads with radial master cylinder. At the back, a 265 mm disc and Brembo two-piston floating caliper are always visible. Always features a Cornering ABS system.
The wheelbase amounts to 1.567 mm and the height from the ground is 220 mm (46 mm more in comparison with the Multistrada 1260, as mentioned). Returning to ergonomics, the standard seat can be managed in two positions 840 e 860 mm with the possibility of adopting a lowered saddle with 50 mm of foam for a height of up to 810 mm. You can opt for a saddle increased in thickness, reaching 875 mm, as reported. 120/70 ZR 19 tires are used in the front area and 170/60 ZR 17 tires in the rear.

Technological solutions

Ducati Connect and a map navigator are aspects mentioned, considering a da 6,5 inches present on Multistrada V4 S and Multistrada S Sport. On Multistrada V4 the instrument panel TFT results from 5 inches.
The range of systems is varied, considering a package with Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection and DTC, DWC, DQS, as well as systems such as the latest generation Quick Shift, four Riding Modes opting between Sport, Touring Urban and Enduro; therefore Autolevelling, four Load modes depending on the load and over 400 parameter combinations for the semi-active Ducati Skyhook suspension considering the Multistrada V4 S and V4 S Sport versions.
One of the most interesting innovative solutions is also the adoption of radars in the front and rear areas, as auxiliary devices. The front radar is associated with the adaptive cruise control, while the rear one identifies vehicles present in the so-called "blind spot" or approaching at a high speed, as already reported.

Motor

The engine is a four V-cylinders arranged at 90° from 1.158 cc, Euro 5. Expressed a power of 170 horses at 10.500 rpm and a maximum torque of 125 Nm at 8.750 rpm. Strength to be compared to a dry weight of 215 kg (in the case of Multistrada V4, 218 kg for V4 S and 217 Kg for V4 S Sport). The engine is associated with a six-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down system.

Versions

The range includes one example Multistrada V4 in the same color Ducati Red with black circles. Then the specimen Multistrada V4 S which, in addition to a red color, can be coated in Aviator Grey with glossy black rims and red tag, opting between spoked or alloy rims. Also reported are the Essential, Travel, Travel & Radar, Performance and Full configuration packages that can be ordered from the factory. So a model Multistrada V4 S Sport and with a Sport livery and glossy black wheels and red tag in alloy or spokes, also considering a Performance package with carbon front mudguard and Akrapovič exhaust, as reported.
