Ducati MotoE: the prototype on track for the first time on the Misano track [PHOTO]

Conducted by pilot and test driver Michele Pirro

First laps on the asphalt of Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the prototype of the Ducati who will take part in FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup. After the announcement of the agreement with Dorna Sports last October, from 2023 season the Borgo Panigale brand will be the sole supplier of the motorbikes in the electric series of the MotoGP™ World Championship.

A strong electric push

Among the factors taken into account in the development of an electric racing motorcycle, the dimensions, weight and autonomy reserved by the batteries stand out. Ducati aims to offer the various participants of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup examples with high performance and low weight. Not just performance, but lightness and constant power delivery throughout each race, given attention to the development of a functional cooling system.

The brand's experience in the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup will constitute fundamental support for R&D on the product side. The aim is to create, as soon as technology allows, an electric Ducati example for road use with characteristics such as low weight and sportiness.
The prototype, whose code name results “V21L”, is the result of a symbiotic work of the Ducati Corse team and the Ducati R&D designers led by Roberto Canè, eMobility Director Ducati. The bike was ridden on the track by Ducati rider and test rider since 2013 Michele Pirro, who tested its technical characteristics and potential.
