“Ducati Monster”: a book tells its story“Ducati Monster”: a book tells its story

A large-format volume which recounts one of the most interesting construction paths in the two-wheel panorama. “Ducati Monster” is a book that summarizes one of the best-known productions linked to the Borgo Panigale brand, starting from the first model.

The book

Large format, 30x23 inch, the text traces the history of Monster two valves, from the original 1993 model up to the most recent ones. Work by Alan Cathcart, one of the most authoritative journalists in the motorcycle sector, the volume of 140 pages includes a hardback cover and is printed on quality paper.
In the book in Italian and English, in addition to the description of the different models, there are also driving impressions.

The latest Monster without the truss features

Among the most obvious aspects of the new generation, presented last December, the adoption of a frame stands out Front Frame in aluminum derived from the Panigale V4. A new concept, linked to sporty features that can also be customized with the application of sticker kits and dressing kits included among the accessories and in the Monster and Monster + variants (this one can be distinguished by the presence of a front fairing and passenger seat cover), with Ducati Red colors and black wheels, Aviator Gray with Rosso GP wheels and Dark Stealth again with black wheels.
The front LED light cluster with a rhomboidal appearance is characteristic, a shape underlined by the DRL light signature. Also highlighted is a 14-litre "bison back" fuel tank, the load-bearing propulsive heart in the center and a streamlined and compact tail with visible rear subframe and painted side panels. Also connotative are the directional indicators integrated frontally into the side wings with dynamic "sweeping" lighting.
The wheelbase of the model is 1.474 mm and the saddle is placed at a height of 820 mm, but with the low saddle accessory it reaches 800 mm and by adding the lowered suspension kit it drops further to 775 mm. The model also features a 4,3-inch TFT color display and various technological solutions.
The engine is L-twin, a heart Testastretta 11 ° da 937 cc with desmodromic distribution. The power reaches 111 horses at 9.250 rpm, the torque peak is instead 93 Nm at 6.500 rpm. Also noteworthy is the proposal for a 35 kW version aimed at A2 license holders. The approval is Euro 5.
