The new Ducati Monster and three young motorcyclists, Chiara, Maria Elena and Stefania, appear in a film proposed by Ducati and some initial considerations emerge on the new generation of the specimen.

The motorcycle

The new model is characterized by compact and refined shapes, distinguishable in particular by a distinctive frontal light signature, as are also the bison-back tank and the streamlined tail. The appearance can also be customized with the adoption of sticker kits and graphics. The associated colors are Ducati Red e Dark Stealth with black wheels, Aviator Grey with Rosso GP wheels and for a marked sportiness one version is mentioned Monster Plus equipped with windshield and cover for the passenger seat.
It features an instrument panel TFT in color from 4,3 inches with sporty graphics and a predisposition for the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS). Among the solutions: three Riding Modes, opting between Sport, Urban or Touring, ABS Cornering, Traction Control, Wheelie Control and also Launch Control. A USB socket under the saddle is also functional.

Technique and engine

Compared to previous models with a trellis frame, in this case there is a Front Frame structure in aluminum alloy to which a supporting twin-cylinder engine is associated. The mass is 4,5 kg smaller than the truss with a dry weight of 166 kg, approximately 20 kg less considering the Monster 821.
Among the characterizing aspects also the compact sides with a saddle placed at 820 millimeters, which can be increased to 775 mm by adopting a low seat accessory and a lowered suspension kit. The steering angle has been increased to 36° (seven more than the 821 model) and, keeping comfort in mind, the footrests have been repositioned. Also indicated are adjustable levers, radial brake and clutch master cylinders and hydraulic clutch.
The engine is a Testastretta 11° L-twin 937 cc with desmodromic distribution combined with a Ducati Quick Shift Up/Down solution. Transmitted a power of 111 horses at 9.250 rpm and a peak torque of 93 Nm at 6.500 rpm.
A motorbike also designed for those who are approaching a two-wheeled model, considering the availability of a version 35 kW.
