Ducati Monster 1200 S: “Honorable Mention” at the XXIV ADI Compasso d'Oro

Ducati Monster 1200S – The Monster 1200 S wins the Honorable Mention at the XXIV ADI Compasso d'Oro. A prestigious recognition for Ducati and, at the same time, further confirmation of a premium company for research and attention to design.

At this edition of the prestigious international award, Ducati presented one of the flagship models of its range: the evergreen Monster, in its 1200 S version. A motorbike capable of harmonizing a few simple elements into a refined design object. The Monster has become, over the course of its more than twenty-year history, a style icon. “Less is more” is the concept that identifies this eclectic motorbike, reduced to the minimum terms in terms of components: essential, captivating and unmistakable. “It is a great pleasure to be awarded again by the ADI, just a few years after the Compasso d'Oro received for the Panigale”, said Andrea Ferraresi, Head of the Ducati Design Center. “A pleasure that we share with our colleagues in the technical area, without whose contribution it would have been impossible to create certain design solutions. The satisfaction is double because, in this case, it was a question of redefining an icon of motorcycle design such as the Monster. A challenging objective full of pitfalls".

The prizes and Honorable Mentions of the XXIV edition of the Compasso D'Oro were assigned by a jury of international experts (who examined 237 design products) and represent, since 1954, the highest Italian recognition for industrial design. At the XXIV Compasso d'Oro ADI, the Monster 1200 S is the only motorcycle to have obtained the Honorable Mention and is on display in the exhibition, scheduled in Milan at Palazzo Isimbardi from 14 to 22 June.
