Ducati closes 2017 positively, confirming the constant growth that has characterized the last eight years of the Bolognese motorcycle manufacturer. 55.871 motorcycles were delivered to customers all over the world (+0,8% compared to 2016), despite the global market for motorcycles over 500 cm3 seeing a contraction of -3,5%. Operating profit was €51 million (2016: €51 million) with an operating margin of 7%.

The financial data of Audi Group relating to the 2017 financial year, of which Ducati represents the motorcycle segment, were communicated at the annual press conference which took place at the AUDI AG headquarters in Ingolstadt. “This important performance confirms the validity of the product development strategy undertaken in recent years – said Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati Motor Holding -. In 2017, the foundations were laid for the further future development of the Company. We launched seven new models on the market and presented the Panigale V4, the first mass-produced Ducati motorcycle equipped with a 4-cylinder engine, the result of the highest investment in Ducati's history for a single product. 2017 was also the year in which the Scrambler range saw the greatest development. The first completely new motorcycle since the birth of the Scrambler brand was presented at EICMA: the Scrambler 1100, which adds a totally new dimension to the Scrambler world , made of technology, performance, very high quality finishes, dimensions and maximoto comfort". “The quality of the result underlines the high profitability and financial resilience of Ducati – said André Stoffels, CFO Ducati Motor Holding -. Taking into consideration the significant increase in investments aimed at product innovation, the global expansion of the Ducati sales network, the digitalisation of our offer and our processes and, last but not least, the great commitment to competitions, we have achieved an operating margin by 7%". Ducati Motor Holding matters today in total 1.570 employees. The sales network of the Borgo Panigale motorcycle manufacturer includes more than 780 dealers in over 90 countries.
