After seeing it at EICMA 2018, the new Ducati Hypermotard 950 is ready to make the hearts of fans of the Bologna brand, but not only, beat.

The new bike promises greater handling which translates into ease of driving, but without sacrificing the emotions that a sports bike can provide. The bike has been completely renewed both in design, which is now inspired much more by the world of racing supermotards, and in ergonomics and chassis.

The driving position has been completely revised to ensure greater comfort and agility. The handlebars have been opened, the sides are narrower and the new saddle helps with movements while riding, allowing you to better place your feet on the ground thanks to the reduced arch of the stand. At the front, the 'beak' stands out, surmounted by the headlight with Daytime Running Light (DRL), while at the rear everything revolves around the double exhausts located under the saddle. The bike has been lightened by 4 kg compared to the 'old' version, a result achieved thanks to a new frame with differentiated section tubes, new rims, brake discs with aluminum flanges and the lightweight Marzocchi fork with aluminum stays and stanchions. The engine is the renewed Testastretta 11° 937 cm³ twin-cylinder, more powerful, more full-bodied in delivery and with new management electronics that offers superior running fluidity. Maximum power has been raised to 114 HP at 9.000 rpm and torque to 96 Nm at 7.250 rpm, of which more than 80% is already available at 3.000 rpm.

The electronic package is well-stocked, everything is kept 'under control' by the Bosch 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU) platform capable of detecting all movements of the motorbike, furthermore there is: the Bosch Cornering ABS with Slide by Brake function (in setting 1), the Ducati Traction Control Evo (DTC EVO), the Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO and the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO (standard on the 950 SP version and available as an accessory on the 950) .

The Hypermotard 950 SP is even more aggressive: in its look, thanks to dedicated graphics, in the riding position, given the flat saddle, and in the suspension department. The SP version is in fact equipped with Öhlins suspensions with increased travel (+15 mm at the front and +25 mm at the rear), which guarantee a greater lean angle (+3°), Marchesini forged rims and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO.

The price of the Hypermotard 950 is 12.690 euros, while the SP version costs 16.390 euros.
