Ducati Globetrotter 90° – Globetrotter 90° marks a new milestone. Belgian Jessica Leyne, the only woman to undertake the journey around the world on the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro, concluded the third stage. Having arrived in San Francisco she handed over the torch to the next Globetrotter Eduardo Generali. There are still four stages left to reach the 30.000 km goal of the Globetrotter 90° adventure. This world tour is a real tribute to Ducati and its first 90 years, which only 7 riders out of 3.000 candidates are doing. The first Globetrotter started last July 4th from Bologna, the fantastic relay continues from San Francisco with Eduardo Generali. The Brazilian Globetrotter will travel 3.900 km in 13 days to Indianapolis, documented in real time thanks to the Globetrotter torch. The Globetrotter 90° "witness", created by the Ducati Design Center, is equipped with a camera to document and share the entire trip around the world on www.globetrotter90.ducati.com.

A great success for Jessica Leyne, a 27-year-old originally from West Flanders, a mathematics teacher and web designer who experienced another of her proud adventures in the Japanese islands. Already in the past during journeys between Norway and Romania, Slovakia and Italy, he has never experienced any obstacles: neither a frozen visor nor mud up to the saddle nor even a fractured wrist. In Japan it also found itself having to deal with typhoon Malakas which unfortunately, after having devastated southern China, hit Taiwan and the Japanese archipelago with gusts of wind up to 160 km/h, also causing floods. But Jessica, with her slender build (she is just one meter and 62 centimeters tall), bravely decided to continue her journey on the Multistrada 1200 Enduro and was just slowed down by the typhoon in her crossing of the Rising Sun.

Jessica left Tokyo on September 17th and immediately traveled the streets of Mount Fuji, the volcano that dominates the metropolis of 35 million inhabitants. Then towards Kiushu in Southern Japan, where the Hiroaki Iwashita museum is located, where the only prototype still existing in the world of the Ducati Apollo is exhibited: the first maximoto designed in Borgo Panigale with 1.257 cm3 and for the first time with two 90° L-shaped cylinders, one of Ducati's hallmarks ever since. Jessica then continued the journey, stopping at the Motegi circuit which will remain memorable for Ducati. In 2007 the Twin Ring was the scene of the great MotoGP victory for Ducati. In fact, the Australian driver Casey Stoner, after winning 10 races in the championship with a mere sixth place, obtained the World title here. But not only that, the other Desmosedici, driven by Loris Capirossi, won that race, an indelible memory for all fans. After Motegi, Jessica went to another circuit full of Ducati glory, Sugo's Sportsland. Here Carl Fogarty won the decisive race in 1998 to win his third Superbike world title, the seventh for Ducati, in a thrilling season finale against Aaron Slight. After all, between 1990 and 1998 the red twins also dominated with Raymond Roche and Doug Polen.

Once back in Tokyo, "Jess" crossed the Pacific arriving in San Francisco to meet the Brazilian Eduardo on October 5th and give him the bike and baton. Now it's time for Eduardo, 28 year old tour guide and driving instructor. He comes from Itu, in the State of Sao Paulo and the passion for two wheels was passed on to him by his father. He will travel the roads of the Western United States, from California to Indiana in the Midwest. He will visit legendary circuits such as Laguna Seca and adventurous routes such as Pikes Peak in the Colorado mountains, the famous “race to the clouds” that Ducati won three consecutive times from 2011 to 2013.
