Ducati Diavel 1260 S: the most sophisticated super-cruiser in the world takes shape

The new Ducati Diavel 1260 S

Oh yes, the news we are talking about is the Ducati Diavel 1260S which next year will undergo a major restyling starting from the engine which will be the 1262 cc DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) which is now being mounted on the new Multistrada 1260. An engine capable of delivering 158 HP of power at 9.500 rpm and a maximum torque of 130 Nm at 7.500 rpm, but above all that, also thanks to the increased displacement, it offers a much more linear delivery curve than that of the 1200, characterized by a "grey area" around 3-4 thousand rpm. Please note that this is not the same 1260 as the reaches 5.000 rpm). As per Ducati tradition for many of its models, the new Diavel will also be supplied in two versions, a standard one and a Premium "S", with high-quality components, both in terms of chassis and equipment. The suspension for her, in fact, will be fully adjustable Öhlins, while the braking system could even be the same one produced by Brembo for the new Panigale V4 (called Stylema).

Ducati Diavel 1260 S: the first reactions

The Ducati Project Manager, Eugenio Gherardi, said he was enthusiastic about the project: “The basic idea is to create a motorcycle that is sporty, but not the same as the XDiavel. To do this, different choices were made in terms of construction, such as the frame which, despite being 15 mm longer, guarantees more agility. The new Ducati will have a traction control system and one for starting assistance, ABS and a Bluetooth system capable of synchronizing the bike with your smartphone for managing phone calls and music“. The new Ducati Diavel 1260 S should be presented during the 2018 edition of EICMA.
