Ducati Desmosedici Cucciolo, Alex Garoli united two eras

This is a scale reproduction

Ducati Desmosedici Cub – Imagine having in your hands the first Ducati, the Cucciolo, and the most modern Ducati, the Desmosedici, and having the possibility of merging them together. What could you take away from it? Most likely this far-fetched question also tormented the Mexican designer Alex Garoli, who thus decided to create a concept.

At the center of the Ducati Desmosedici Cub there is the V4 engine mounted on the official Borgo Panigale bike that competes in the MotoGP world championship and around it Garoli has imagined a modern steel trellis frame that imitates the appearance of post-war motorcycles, i.e. those that towed Italy out of the deep recession. The Ducati Cucciolo was a 50 cc two-engine motorcycle produced by Ducati between the 40s and 50s, capable of reaching a maximum speed (estimated) of around 35 km/h. Of course the most interesting thing about Garoli's concept is the fact that it is a scale model, 12:1.

Alex Garoli is a great model enthusiast, but his creations are not limited to faithfully reproducing existing motorcycles in scale. Often, in fact, it involves realizing concepts conceived by him, who sometimes prefers to give a tangible outlet to his visions rather than simple graphic creation (as we had already seen a few years ago with the convincing Yamaha 500 Grand Prix Tracker).
