Ducati DesertX: a Turn by Turn navigation system introduced on the model

The new Ducati DesertX it is a motorcycle made to travel in multiple directions, supported by technical aspects that allow it to tackle even the most challenging sections, noting for example the 21-inch front wheel. On the 2023 model a new one is adopted Turn by Turn navigation system.

The navigation system

A novelty in the Ducati range on a motorcycle presented in the colour Matt Star Silk, also proposed with a new look “RR22”.
The system allows you to select the indications to receive, they can be only visual or add audio suggestions to these by activating a connection with the pilot's headset. It is also possible to record the route with a series of information, to then savor the experience again or share it. The integrated navigator rests on the Ducati Multimedia System and the directions of the route calculated by Ducati Link App they are visible on the motorcycle's TFT instrumentation, as mentioned. It is an official Ducati Performance accessory and can be purchased at Ducati Stores with the motorcycle or at a later time, if you already own the vehicle.
To be able to use the Turn by Turn navigation system you must have the Ducati Link App updated to the most recent version and purchase the user license. Simply enter one or more destinations for the application to calculate the route according to your preferences and begin navigation.

A Bluetooth connection is used between smartphones with iOS or Android systems, the vehicle and earphones paired with the rider's and passenger's helmet, via the Ducati Multimedia System. An accessory to be purchased separately. The phone can be placed in a pocket, in the tank bag or on the Ducati Performance holder, without keeping the display active. Navigation is possible with the support of maps that can be downloaded in advance to reduce data traffic consumption or avoid any difficulties in areas with poor coverage. With the phone connected, however, you can take advantage of real-time traffic information, it is specified.

Along with the navigation instructions on the screen, there is still space for the main information. Always thinking about safety, the system shows suggestions on the approach turn and also the next one, making it easier for the pilot in view of subsequent manoeuvres. Thanks to the data on the maps it is possible to have an overview of the speed limits of the route travelled.
