Ducati closes 2013 with growth and a new sales record

Positive trend, a result also achieved with emerging markets

It is with extreme joy and the right amount of pride that Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali confirms the Ducati Motor Holding spa growth trend A trend that sees a registered of 44.287 bikes, with record sales in 2013 that just ended.

«We are particularly proud and satisfied with 2013» commented Claudio Domenicali «Despite the market uncertainty, particularly in Southern European countries, Ducati achieved positive results, confirming the strength of our products and the appreciation and esteem for our brand. For the second consecutive year we achieved record results, with over 44.000 motorcycles sold, also thanks to the introduction of new models such as the Hypermotard and the 899 Panigale. The 2013 result also confirms the positive trend that our sales are recording in emerging markets such as Asia, where 5200 motorbikes were sold, with a growth of 26% compared to 2012 and Brazil, where Ducati has only been selling directly since the second half of 2013 and where 700 motorbikes were sold in six months. The United States continues to be our largest market, with a share of 24% of our sales, followed by Italy, with 11,3% and Germany, with 10,7%. The continuous development of the range and the growth of new markets make us confident that 2014 will also be a positive year for our company."

There is no lack of appropriate reference to commercial partner Audi, main shareholder of Ducati: «These results allow us to continue with our demanding new product development plan. Consistent with the approach of our shareholder, the Audi Group, continuous technological and design innovation represents the cornerstone of our industrial strategy." Globally, Ducati is a distributed company for the 51% in Europe, 24% in North America and the remaining 25% in Asia and South America.

The arrival of the new 2014 proposals, such as the new Monster 1.200 (available from dealers for a few days) and the 1199 Superlight – made with levels of technology and performance never seen before in a production motorcycle, produced in just 500 numbered examples, of which 90% had already been sold even before its official presentation at EICMA – allow Ducati to look forward with confidence and optimism, confirming his prestigious role of excellence of "made in Italy" both from a technological, stylistic and performance point of view.
