Ducati: the Race of Champions Panigale V4s up for auction on eBay
These are 12 models made in racing configuration and customized with the liveries of each driver
Everything is ready at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” for the World Ducati Week 2018, an event eagerly awaited by all Ducatisti and which will determine the peaceful “red invasion” of the Romagna Riviera: this year, however, Ducati has a big surprise in store for all its fans and in general for two-wheel enthusiasts.
The traditional "Race of Champions" is scheduled for Saturday 21 July at 13pm in which 00 Ducati riders will compete: Dovizioso, Lorenzo, Petrucci, Miller, Melandri, Rinaldi, Pirro, Abraham, Rabat, Simeon, Fores but also a champion who made Ducati history like Troy Bayliss, will take to the track riding special Panigale V12s in racing configuration and customized livery.
The race will be broadcast live on the SKY Sport channel dedicated to MotoGP (Ch.207), with commentary by Guido Meda, Mauro Sanchini and Antonio Boselli.
The real surprise, however, will come after the race: twelve special motorbikes that will compete are unique pieces and can be purchased through a public auction on eBay, thus giving fans the opportunity to win them starting from Saturday 21 July at 18.00 pm, until the closing of offers on Saturday 28 July always at 18.00 pm.
eBay has dedicated a "Race of Champions" themed Ducati Store to this special sale.
The bikes will have a livery dedicated to each rider, inspired by the colors used in MotoGP or WorldSuperbike: on the steering head a plate will show the rider's name and his race number, whose autograph will be placed in indelible ink on the tank before the start of the race.
A certificate of authenticity, signed directly by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, will give further value and credibility to the purchase, which can also boast a series of special components used during the "Race of Champions", as well as all the original parts , including exhausts, necessary for the approval and road use of the motorcycle.
Photos of all the bikes will be available from today, Thursday 19 July, on mediahouse.ducati.com.
