Ducati – The University of Bologna and Ducati have presented a collaboration agreement to work together both in the field of research and training, through the new path in Motor Vehicle Engineering of the Alma Mater Studiorum, activated within the master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Bologna office. The Ducati funding for a new three-year research contract at the Department of Industrial Engineering is also added to the degree course.

The framework agreement further strengthens the multi-year collaborative relationship between Ducati and the Alma Mater, which today becomes even closer thanks to the active participation of the Emilian company in some key activities of the University of Bologna. The most significant innovation is certainly represented by the course in Motor Vehicle Engineering, designed by the Department of Industrial Engineering within the Master's Degree Course in Mechanical Engineering (School of Engineering and Architecture). The newly launched path will come into force starting from the second academic year (2015/2016). For students interested in the motorcycle sector there will therefore be the opportunity to follow lessons, carry out internships, analyze test cases, join work projects and activities related to the thesis, all in close collaboration with Ducati's qualified engineering staff. The agreement will be active for three years, further renewable, and provides the possibility for Ducati to finance new research contracts, in addition to those already in place. The activity will be focused on issues relating to the motorcycle sector and aimed at supporting teaching and services for students of the Motor Vehicle Engineering course.

"In this global world, where the time and cost of transmitting information has been eliminated, it is only knowledge that can generate a solid competitive advantage for the territory," commented Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati Motor Holding. “At Ducati we compete with the best in the world to create highly technological and emotional products and only a continuous contribution of new ideas and innovation can allow the company to prosper in the long term. The University is one of the ideal places to generate this creative ferment, and we want to give our active contribution to create new ideas and help train talents who can support our region in the global challenge for competitiveness, bringing research and Training, University and Business".
