DRE Enduro Academy 2017: the Ducati driving school dedicated to off-road returns

DRE Enduro Academy 2017 – The DRE Enduro Academy, the Ducati riding academy dedicated to offroad, restarts. The DRE Enduro Academy courses offer the opportunity to learn or improve motorbike riding on any type of road, terrain or roughness, always guaranteeing maximum safety.

The prestigious Castle of Nipozzano remains the selected location for this activity, being able to count on the land surrounding the estate and which extends for over 600 hectares. Nipozzano is the historic property of the Marchesi de Frescobaldi, in the heart of Chianti just 30 kilometers from Florence. The ideal setting, where participants in the DRE Enduro Academy can also taste the best traditional Tuscan recipes enhanced by the character of the typical wines produced in Nipozzano. The 2017 edition of the DRE Enduro Academy takes place in 8 events between June and July. From this year, in addition to the Multistrada 1200 Enduro fleet, it is also possible to take part in the course with the new Multistrada 950: the smallest of the multibikes from the Borgo Panigale company which stands out for its ease of riding and versatility.

The DRE Enduro Academy courses take place under the supervision of expert pilots and qualified instructors, led by the ex-Dakari rider Beppe Gualini who is entrusted with the technical direction. Record-man of the African rally raids with 65 participations and of which 10 in the Paris-Dakar, Gualini is a constant presence at courses and educational sessions, both theoretical and practical. THE DRE Enduro Academy courses are suitable for everyone, from the novice who wants to increase confidence and control of the motorbike in conditions of poor grip, to the more experienced enduro rider who wants to learn from the experience of the best riders and put into practice the correct technique in the saddle to the Multistrada 1200 Enduro or the new Multistrada 950. Participants follow exercises that range from learning the best riding position to various techniques to make the most of traction on steep off-road climbs and descents. The off-road training areas, duly set up, allow you to put into practice the right technique for overcoming obstacles, for emergency braking on surfaces with poor grip and to learn to manage your body weight on uneven surfaces such as tolè ondulèe typical of sandy deserts.

All the motorbikes supplied to the participants of the DRE Enduro Academy are equipped with Ducati Performance components for the most extreme use. Ducati Performance bull bars by Touratech, for example, provide further protection from possible impacts when using the motorbike on rough trails; the side stand base with an enlarged surface specific for the Multistrada 1200 Enduro, however, makes the motorbike stable and safe even if parked on soft surfaces; and then the small windshield and, for the Multistrada 950, the adjustable gear and rear brake levers, the sump guard and the exclusive spoked rims that allow the fitting of the Pirelli Scorpion Rally, the tire that equips the entire motorbike fleet of the DRE Enduro Academy. Finally, all the motorbikes are equipped with an approved Termignoni silencer (in compliance with the approval requirements of EU countries), with a billet aluminum end cap and a titanium liner, designed to make the sound of the Ducati twin-cylinder even more satisfying.

All participants in the DRE Enduro Academy have the opportunity to rent the entire set of technical clothing consisting of the Explorer helmet developed in collaboration with Arai, the fabric suit created by Scott to match the harness, and the UFO knee pads which at the same time offer maximum protection and freedom of movement. To complete the outfit, Spidi gloves and TCX boots specific for offroad use. Also for the 2017 edition of the DRE Enduro Academy, Technogym confirms itself as a partner of the event because a prepared body will tend to react better, increasing the quality of the performance and consequently the fun and safety in the saddle.

The DRE Enduro Academy confirms itself as a pleasant event also for family and friends who can choose to spend the day exploring the historic village of Nipozzano, visiting the cellars, enjoying the magnificent views thanks to excursions in the Tuscan hills.
