Preparation for the 2012 MotoGP World Championship continues for Andrea Dovizioso, the team's top driver from this year Yamaha Monster Energy Tech3. Among the fundamental parts of "Dovi's" intense weekly training there is never a shortage of long motocross sessions riding his new YZ250F my 2012 collected a few weeks ago directly at the Yamaha Motor Italia headquarters in Gerno di Lesmo and only a few days ago enriched by the new and special kit of the Yamaha Rinaldi Research and Development (YRRD), for years the official supplier of three tuning forks specialized in the development of high performance "racing" components for Iwata's motocross bikes, tested directly on the racing fields by Team Factory Yamaha Monster Energy MX and by various satellite teams in the MX World Championship.

The almost 26-year-old rider from Romagna, third in the 2011 MotoGP World Championship and in the last ten seasons of the top motorcycle competition only on two occasions outside the top five of the final ranking, after recently attending the Mantova Starcross wanted to visit the headquarters of the Yamaha MX Monster Energy team owned by the former World Champion and absolute motocross legend Michael Rinaldi. For the occasion, Dovizioso spoke at length about his passion for cross and in particular for his new Yamaha YZ250F, an already very effective series bike.

“I am a huge motocross fan and whenever possible I attend the World Championship races in person - he has declared -. I liked the 250 YZ2012F very much from the first time I got on the bike and in particular I was impressed by the frame which allows you to always be very precise and guarantees great stability on the front. I also can't wait to be able to test the new components of the YRRD kit such as the new cylinder head and the special camshafts since a little more power never hurts on the twomezzos! The YZ250F for me is perfect for a thirty minute workout at a steady pace. I love jumps, maybe not exactly supercross style ones, but still high ones, and I really like riding on the sand even if on this very tiring terrain I still can't have absolute control of the bike".

The frequency of Dovizioso's visits to the World MX races in the last two years has been truly significant and in particular we cannot forget the time in which the rider from Romagna, the day after racing the Assen GP, traveled for several kilometers despite to see the German Grand Prix live in Teutschenthal. Moreover, the Italian centaur has no intention of interrupting his habits: “I will definitely come back again. I have to check the calendar carefully to understand which races I will be able to participate in. I admit that for me it's the best to race for Yamaha because as well as racing on the track with the MotoGP at the same time I can do cross-country with very high level bikes.".

Having just collected the YRRD racing kit which will further improve the already exciting performance of his YZ, Dovizioso admitted that his love for off-road actually goes beyond pure fun: “I can't train as much as I would like in cross, but when I'm not traveling to races I ride at least once a week. I do most of my physical training in the gym, but motocross helps me a lot. Riding a motocross bike is completely different than riding a road bike and you can clearly see the difference between riders who train off-road and those who don't. In fact, this type of training makes you much more sensitive when you need to make the bike "slide" in corners. And more generally I love the whole environment, preparing the bikes or loading the van and racing with my friends".
