The stereotype of the rough motorcyclist, with the beard and the leather vest is now history, now the world of two wheels is much more open and seeing women riding motorbikes is fortunately no longer an exception. The sense of freedom and independence that two wheels give is for everyone, but now there is also 'scientific' proof that riding a motorbike improves the life of bikers.

According to a survey by Motorcycle Industry Council, published on Forbes, it emerged that 74% of bikers experienced an improvement in their lives after starting an adventure on two wheels. Also according to this study, one woman in five owns a motorbike, a figure that is clearly growing compared to previous years. During the survey, the women interviewed were then asked what had driven them to buy a motorbike and 37% of them said they felt happier and more confident riding a motorbike. Riding a motorbike is a 'natural' anti-stress, in fact 60% of motorcyclists showed an improvement in their psychophysical conditions, often damaged by daily stress and anxiety, and 50% showed greater stability with their partner. The result of the survey was then reconfirmed by research conducted by the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior of Los Angeles, according to which riding two wheels reduces the stress hormone by 28%, increases the heart rate by 11% and the adrenaline rate by 28%. Two wheels make you free, but also emancipated and safe, as told by Arab women who, finally free to drive after years of oppression, admitted that they felt more accepted on board a motorbike.

Eliana Macrì, President of BikerX, the new safe driving school dedicated to female riders and new generations of motorcyclists, said: "I am pleased to note that the number of women passionate about two wheels has grown significantly in recent years, a sign of a great change of direction compared to the past and a definitive elimination of stereotypes linked to the male world. Traveling on a motorbike equates to feeling happier and more fulfilled, because riding it is a personal choice. Hence our claim Four wheels transport the body, two wheels transport the soul. But to get started you need to carefully know the road safety regulations, your driving style and your own aptitudes. For these reasons we have founded a school that not only offers courses of various levels dedicated to beginners, new drivers or those who want to improve their driving technique, but promotes the knowledge and culture of two wheels through events in which driving technique, the pleasure of motorbike tourism and the passion for this traveling companion".
