Di Traverso School presents “Father&Son: moto trip to Wheels&Waves”
A journey to Wheels&Waves, with Marco Belli and little Federico
We knew him as the king of Flat Track, one of the characters, perhaps the only one, capable of introducing a specialty that was ignored until a few years ago in Italy. We were also guests of him, 3 years ago now, for a wonderful experience at the Di Traverso Flat Track School (here is our article / story). Now we rediscover different aspects of him, those of a traveling motorcyclist, with over 1.200 kilometers in the saddle, but also that of a father who is thrilled to share his passion for motorbikes with his son.
We are therefore very happy to share these brief thoughts of his, from which the "true" transport of a person who lives motorcycles 100% clearly shines through, as a passion, work and almost the purpose of his life.
The experience of the first trip with Federico, my 11 year old, generated an indescribable series of emotions combined with the desire to set off for 1220 km aboard a Yamaha XSR900. Finally the day of departure, 4 stages to get to Biarritz where we spent 4 days at Wheels&Waves 2018.
We really tried them all, always 2 of us, Federico and I, first sitting on the back seat and then driving a Yamaha TT-R110 enduro on the Deus Swank Rally track.
Then on Saturday, the Flat Track day on the "El Rollo" circuit in San Sebastian where I took to the track with a Yamaha MT-03 prepared by me to try to stay ahead of everyone. Second place was the best possible result, achieved in the Modern Bike final.
During the return home, still 2 of us, still on motorbike, we had the opportunity to remember all the best moments of the trip and to enjoy the splendid sunsets which in the south of France are a spectacle!
