Simplification Decree, ANCMA: positive green light for three-wheeled vehicles on motorways and ring roads
“An article of a few lines fills an important legislative gap”
On the proposed green light for certain tilting three-wheeled vehicles on motorways and ring roads, considering the text linked to the so-called “Simplifications decree”, in a note proposed by ANCMA (National Association of Motorcycle Cycle and Accessories) is indicated: “After a setback suffered last July at parliamentary level, the Highway Code clarifies and finally recognizes this new possibility for three-wheelers: an article of just a few lines thus closes an important legislative gap”.
The opinion
It is highlighted in the press release "satisfaction with the result obtained through a constructive and fruitful dialogue with the legislator".
The rule, operational with publication in the Gazette in the next few days, concerns tricycles of displacement not less than 250 cc (considering a heat engine), however equipped with a power not less than 15 kW. The provision specifically concerns vehicles in the international L5e-A category, for example Peugeot Metropolis, Piaggio MP3, Coder e Yamaha tricity, to name some typologies. A market segment that has grown by 10% in the last year, according to indications. A double figure compared to the overall trend (+5%), as reported on the occasion.
