From MotoGP to EICMA 2011, here are the new Bridgestone tyres

Inspired by the same technology developed for MotoGP, Bridgestone presents a new sports tire: the Battlax Hypersport S20. Designed for medium and large displacement motorbikes from 600 to 1300 cc, it follows the Battlax R10 which has received good feedback from critics and users and completes the range of Hypersport products in which the Battlax BT-016 Pro and the BT are already present -016, used on the road and track respectively. All the details will be revealed on the occasion of the upcoming EICMA 2011, the international motorcycle show scheduled in Milan from tomorrow until Sunday.

Vincent Van Houtte, Manager Motorcycle Tire Products, Bridgestone Europe, does not hide his satisfaction: “The test results of the new S20 highlight the use of the technology used by Bridgestone in MotoGP and its application to a tire for road use. To date, the S20 is the tire that comes closest to the one used in MotoGP and therefore benefits from the technology that brought Bridgestone success in MotoGP." In essence, the Battlax S20 proves to be congenial for motorcyclists engaged in mountain roads in both dry and wet conditions. The secret, explain Bridgestone engineers, is to be found in the reduction of heat accumulation thanks to the Rich Silica compound enriched by the polymer with NanoPro-TechTM technology.
The manufacturer highlights performance in terms of consumption. Not only that, but the combination of Mono-Spiral Belt (MSB) and HTSPC (High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord) technologies ensures greater grip, i.e. a higher level of driving comfort and increased cornering stability. Furthermore, recent tests have shown an increase in wet grip compared to the previous BT-016 Pro.
The Battlax Hypersport S20 will be available from the first weeks of next year in the main European countries, including Italy, in 4 sizes at the front and 7 at the rear.
