in 2010 Speedbrain began developing a version of the BMW G450X suitable for the particular needs of a marathon rally and at the beginning of 2011 BMW celebrated its return to the Dakar Rally with this bike. Already in the spring of 2011 Speedbrain engineers began to develop and build a new racing motorcycle for rallying: the Husqvarna TE449 RR by Speedbrain.

It is a very modern and innovative racing motorcycle, particularly light, which offers good handling and stability on the most varied terrain, ensuring maximum confidence for the rider. Husqvarna brings its know-how in the field of engine development and its configuration for long distances, so as to improve its resistance. Speedbrain in turn is responsible with its research and development work for the construction of the chassis and specific rally components. The bike is constantly evolving and optimizing thanks to the direct contribution of the riders.

The heart of the motorcycle is the Husqvarna TE449 engine appropriately modified for use in raids. Husqvarna is responsible for its development, construction, performance and diagnostics of the 450cc engine and supplies the race-ready powertrains to Team Speedbrain. The Husqvarna TE449 engine is one of the motorcycle's strongest points and has been improved again for the 2013 Dakar Rally.

The electrical system is also a complex and, at the same time, important issue, because a rally motorcycle is equipped with numerous navigation and safety components. The Husqvarna TE449 by Speedbrain is equipped with an electrical system developed specifically for this motorcycle, and is subject to continuous modification and improvement. Furthermore, after the 2012 Dakar Speedbrain revisited the entire chassis, developing it partially from scratch. The motorcycle that will participate in the 2013 Dakar Rally represents a refinement of the motorcycle used for the 2012 Dakar.

One of the features of the rally version is an extremely compact chassis and chassis package. This allows the central tank to be perfectly integrated with the rear one, which is divided into two, guaranteeing the rider maximum freedom of movement and simultaneously ensuring enduro-type ergonomics and perfect balance. The extreme lightness of the motorbike is ensured by the aerodynamically optimized carbon and Kevlar fairing and a special rear part. The carbon/Kevlar engine guard with integrated three-litre water tank ensures extensive protection of the engine and exhaust manifold.
