Several vehicles have technological solutions that could be susceptible to some form of cyber attack. There UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) has developed cybersecurity standards defined as UNECE/R155, through which minimum criteria are established on a vehicle. EUROCYBCARFurthermore, it carried out the first test that verifies the level of cybersecurity on a vehicle, using the ESTP methodology (EUROCYBCAR Standard Test Protocol) in accordance with the criteria UNECE/R155. For the first time the electric motorcycle NUUK Cargopro passed the test.

The news

The regulation came into force in January 2021 and provides criteria cybersecurity for cars, buses, trucks, vans, trailers and campers approved from July 2022 and marketed from July 2024 in the European Union and in countries adhering to the regulation, such as Japan, South Korea, Russia, Australia or South Africa .
Although the regulation does not include motorcycles, EUROCYBCAR demonstrated that the regulation UNECE/R155 must also include mopeds and motorcycles, examples of the categories L1, L3 e L4, because these too are connected specimens and can be susceptible to cyber attacks.
The electric motorcycle NUUK Cargopro, proposed by the Basque company NUUK Mobility Solutions (NMS), passed the EUROCYBCAR test in accordance with the requirements of the UNECE/R155 standards and according to the ESTP (EUROCYBCAR Standard Test Protocol) procedure and methodology, developed by EUROCYBCAR, which identifies , evaluates and prevents risks affecting the IT security of vehicles, fleet management systems and infrastructural telecommunications, in compliance with current legislation.
After passing the EUROCYBCAR test, AENOR verifies compliance and then issues a certificate valid for three years.
