Yamaha MotorEurope pointed out that, to respond to the current health emergency linked to Covid-19 coronavirus, production is temporarily suspended in two factories located in Italy e France. Work in the Italian engine factory Motori Minarelli in Calderara di Reno and in the transalpine assembly plant MBK Industrie in Saint-Quentin is currently suspended with immediate effect, communication has resumed. Closure is looming until March 22st, then the situation will be “magazine on a weekly basis”.

The suspension

Eric de Seynes, President and CEO di Yamaha MotorEurope, on this occasion, highlighted how the state of health of the staff and social responsibility itself are priorities at this moment, hence the choice to temporarily suspend the production of the aforementioned structures to avoid problems related to the current pandemic emergency. Furthermore, highlighting the commitment and dedication of these operators already reassures us about their work “to ensure that no employee will have financial repercussions until a stable situation is returned to both Italy and France”, as reported again in the communication sent.
It is also indicated that Yamaha MotorEurope is working together with local authorities, in Italy e France, to ensure that the employees of both facilities are not economically disadvantaged due to these temporary closures. This decision was implemented with the well-being and tranquility of those who work in Italy and France in mind, considering that social distancing in these realities is the strategy implemented to contain the current emergency.
