Continental ContiAttack SM 2: the new Supermotard tire previewed at the Motor Bike Expo 2024
Approved for the road but also high-performance on the track
Al Motor Bike Expo 2024, the international trade fair event dedicated to motorcyclists and lovers of customization which opens its doors tomorrow 19 January in Verona, Continental presents ContiAttack SM 2, the new pure Supermotard tire approved for road circulation.
Successor to the ContiAttack SM EVO, the ContiAttack SM 2 benefits from innovative technologies, such as mix BlackChili, and promises excellent performance on the track, enhancing driving pleasure and guaranteeing, at the same time, greater durability.
Approved for the road, but also high-performance on the track
The Continental ContiAttack SM 2 has its strong point in the fact that it is a road tire developed specifically for the Supermotard segment, but at the same time also perfect for track use. Developed on Continental's sportiest carcass and inspired by the ContiTrack racing slick tyres, the new rubber has fewer shoulder grooves ensuring a high lean angle.
In tests conducted on Continental's test track, the new ContiAttack SM 2 proved itself faster on both dry and wet surfaces, guaranteeing a higher durability, thanks above all to the greater depth of the tread for both the front and rear tyres.
Two technological innovations
The leap in performance that the new tire offers compared to its predecessor is mainly linked to two technologies: GripLimitFeedback which increases the level of safety at extreme lean angles, ensuring greater control at high speeds, and the compound RainGrip which allows excellent grip on wet surfaces, increasing grip without compromising mileage.
The new ContiAttack SM 2, the first Supermotard tire to use the BlackChili compound, integrates all the technologies proven by its predecessors such as the MultiGrip, the surface TractionSkin and the construction of the steel belt ZeroDegree 0°.
Sizes and availability
The new Continental ContiAttack SM 2 will be available from the first quarter of 2024 in the sizes 120/70 R 17 (front) and 160/60 R 17 (rear). From the second half of 2024, the sizes 110/70 R 17 (front) and 140/70 R 17 and 150/60 R 17 (rear) will complete the range.
