Continental at EICMA 2023: connectivity and ABS in the foreground [LIVE PHOTOS]

Among the protagonists of EICMA 2023, the long-awaited Milanese fair open until next Sunday, is also here Continental . Connectivity and ABS are at the forefront of the German company's stand at this event. We talked about it with Peter Rossi, Head of Vehicles Electronics Italy of the brand.

From the 2022 to the 2023

On a technical level, Continental is focusing on the consolidation of automatic transmission management system andABS with integrated inertia system. The latter "is able to understand the motion of the vehicle and therefore initiate braking in a way that not only slows down, but also understands the stability of the motorbike".

Connectivity

In the foreground, however, there is connectivity and the presentation of the new one Connectivity Box “which you will see equipped on some motorbikes next year”. This system allows "all the multimedia contents, those for e-calls, to be included in a single device and will allow mirroring on the navigation system and over-the-air updating".

There are multiple i benefits of this new system: “Once the smartphone is connected, it does not drain the cell phone's battery and data. By managing everything autonomously, with an internal GPS – concluded Pietro Rossi – An integrated object. Once studied for a brand, it can then be derived on all motorbikes. The big advantage is flexibility. In case I move from model A to model B, once the connectivity has been developed for a customer, I then move it at no cost".
