Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Cycle and Motorcycle Accessories) points the finger at the phenomenon of trading in motocross bikes of illicit origin, through an awareness campaign aimed at fans of knobby wheels.

Information

Against easy savings, the invitation of the main manufacturers and distributors is to contact the network of official dealers in the area, “where seriousness, transparency and professionalism are found”. The president of Confindustria ANCMA Paolo Magri highlighted: “the importance of protecting the supply chain involved and the need to inform and involve fans of this wonderful sport, dissuading them from even unconsciously fueling a system of fraud which, despite the illicit savings it promises, actually makes everyone poorer”.
The invitation is: “Don't give in to the dark side, choose legality”. The title of the initiative introduced by the association and supported by the protagonists of the relevant industry. The companies GASGAS, Honda RedMoto, Husqvarna Motorcycles, KTM and Yamaha are united in supporting this project which, among its objectives, aims to inform users about the risks and judicial consequences deriving from the purchase of motorcycles in the context of opaque and criminal systems.
The campaign promoted by ANCMA, as underlined in the press release released, “in fact, it was also created to shine a spotlight on the fraudulent mechanism that appears evidently hidden behind the easy savings offers proposed by some dishonest sellers and, above all, to protect the official sales network from the unfair competition operated by them”. There is evidence of a real tax fraud against which the motorcycle manufacturers have already recently filed complaints and complaints to the Public Prosecutor's Office in some local courts.
A phenomenon that leverages the type of use of cross bikes: use on closed tracks does not require the registration of these vehicles and the absence of the license plate makes it impossible to consult public registers to reconstruct the changes in ownership . The controls are also difficult and lacking, resulting in significant damage to the Treasury and also a risk for the buyer, who may face a charge of careless purchase, if not receiving stolen goods. ANCMA estimates that the illicit framework on which this phenomenon is based could affect at least 20% of the reference market, a market which in Italy is worth more than 30 million euros overall.
