Confindustria ANCMA, 2017 Positive for the 2-wheel sector

After 2016 closed with growth, 2017 also confirmed itself as positive

The National Cycle, Motorcycle and Accessories Association presented during the national assembly: motorcycle and bicycle sales data, initiatives to protect industries and projects to support two-wheeled tourism.

The annual meeting of the National Cycle, Motorcycle and Accessories Association held today in Milan at the Hotel Gallia began with a thought of Fulvio Acquati, manager of Deda Elementi , passed away last month.
In addition to the sales data, for the two-wheel sector, the numerous initiatives and activities promoted by ANCMA were presented.

In 2016, registrations recorded an increase of +13,3% thus accelerating the recovery recorded in 2015.
The increase in motorbikes was significant, equal to +21,6%, while scooters achieved +8,6%.
Registrations for fifties are stable -0,6%.
In the first half of 2017, sales for vehicles with a displacement of more than 50cc recorded a +7,1% in a similar manner for both motorbikes and scooters; the 50cc stuck at -0,7%.
Naked bikes are in first place among motorcycle sales, followed by road maxi enduros.

ANCMA has identified these as key growth drivers who supported the recovery: the revival of domestic demand, the success of the medium-sized models which have allowed us to increase the number of two-wheeled users and the excellent performance of the 125cc models, considered as an entry level vehicle.

The used car market was stable in 2016, which records an increase of +1,1%, a market worth half a million units and with a ratio equal to 2,9 that of the new one, that is, for for every 100 registrations, 290 changes of ownership are signed.
The balance between imports and exports of the two-wheeled sector remains positive in favor of our productions, with a surplus of 866 million euros in 2016

It was not successful there reform of the highway code presented by ANCMA, which provided for the safety of road infrastructures, the access of motorcycles in preferential lanes and the circulation of 125cc vehicles on the motorway.
The reform that had been approved in the Chamber of Deputies, has in fact stranded in the Senate a few months before the end of the legislature.
The President of ANCMA, Corrado Capelli, it is hoped that the next Parliament will start again from this text when it decides to revisit the reform of the road code.

Traffic in restricted traffic zones, access to preferential lanes, number of dedicated parking spaces, thousands of pieces of information that can be received by other Italian municipalities in a relationship of mutual exchange of best practices.

The bicycle market is growing both traditional and pedal-assisted for 2016, a trend similar to the data recorded in other European countries.
From this year, in Italy, the market data regarding e-bike shows a decidedly “European” trend, 124.400 e-bikes equal to +120% compared to 2015.
On traditional bicycles there was a decline of around 2,6% which is a better figure than the general decline of 8/9% in the rest of Europe.

ANCMA presented an economic impact study for the construction of the HORNBEAM, the Grande Raccordo Anulare for bicycles, a 44 km cycle loop which touches the main monuments and archaeological sites of the Capital.
With GRAB and the project Panorama D'Italia, project with the objective show the excellence of the Italian cities that are identified annually, wants to promote the Cycle tourism.
In Germany alone, cycle tourism generates 9 billion euros a year.
