Confindustria ANCMA (National Association of Cycle Motorcycle Accessories), through a press release, highlighted the operation carried out by Company of the Guardia di Finanza of Olgiate Comasco, which led to the arrest of two Italian citizens for tax fraud linked to the trade of motocross bikes, after an investigative activity coordinated by Prosecutor of the Republic of Como.

The fact

The investigation is linked to a complaint from some manufacturers associated with ANCMA and the association had also launched a communication campaign with the same protagonists of the reference industry such as GASGAS, Honda RedMoto, Husqvarna Motorcycles, KTM and Yamaha, informing enthusiasts about the risks and legal consequences linked to the purchase of motorcycles in contexts unclear and criminal.
According to ANCMA, the illicit framework consisting of artificial triangulations to evade VAT on which the aforementioned phenomenon is based could involve at least 20% of the reference market, for a total value exceeding 30 million euros in Italy. Against the temptation of easy savings, manufacturers and distributors invite you to always turn to the official dealer network.
The ANCMA initiative was created to draw attention to a fraudulent mechanism behind the easy-saving proposals of some sellers and to protect the official sales network from unfair competition.
Based on what emerged from the investigations, as also reported by the varesenews.it newspaper, one of the suspects, reporting the availability of a large corporate network but registered to nominees, imported thousands of motor vehicles from abroad between 2015 and 2020 and then market them by evading the taxes due, according to the information gathered by the financiers. The turnover would be estimated at over 15 million euros, as reported.
