Highway code: news reported including urban speed cameras and the urban cycle road

Considering the bill in conversion of Simplifications decree, several innovations related to the Traffic laws.

Urban mobility and “soft mobility”

Among those listed, taking into account the opinion of the Prefect based on an analysis of the accidents that occurred in the area, the authorization to install fixed speed cameras on urban and neighborhood streets. Remaining in city areas, given article 12-bis, we highlight the possibility for municipal employees to ascertain possible violations in urban areas, such as irregular parking. The same goes for municipal employees.
There are also measures affecting the circulation of cars and three-wheeled vehicles. In this case the possibility for three-wheeled motorcycles and scooters from 250 cc upwards and with a power of no less than 15 kW to be able to circulate in highway.
Also indicate some “school zones”, near institutions, where there is particular attention for pedestrians with special signs. Areas in which circulation is expected to be limited or closed for certain categories of vehicles, including parking or stopping, with the exception of school buses or buses intended for the transport of students or vehicles with disabled permits.
Finally speaking of the so-called “soft mobility”, one is quoted “two-way cycle path” only on urban roads with a speed limit of 30 km/h or in restricted traffic zones regardless of the size of the roadway or the presence of rest areas, therefore also the introduction of “urban cycle road” single carriageway with speed limit not exceeding 30 km/h and priority for bicycles. Priority for these vehicles also on urban roads where the aforementioned two-way cycling is permitted.
