City scooter – Milan is preparing to be pleasantly invaded by City scooter, the French free-flow, zero-emission scooter sharing start-up, which will make an initial fleet of 500 scooters available to the city for a very broad geographical coverage.

What is Cityscoot

Cityscoot is a company founded in France in 2014 which within a couple of years managed to launch its own scooter rental service in the city of Paris with an initial fleet of 150 electric scooters, which rose to 1000 units over the period of an abundant year (today there are 3.400 scooters in Paris and the company's goal is to radically change the mobility landscape of the French capital and many other European cities). In the first half of 2018 it landed in Nice and from this year it will arrive in Milan.

Milan welcomes Cityscoot

The Cityscoot scooters that will make up the fleet of the city of Milan will be available seven days a week, 24 hours a day, throughout the "Cityscoot Zone" in which the vehicles can be rented, which will initially include the entire area of the 24/90 ring road plus some strategic islands such as Bicocca, Rogoredo, the area around the IULM. It will also be possible to use the scooters outside this delimited area, provided that at the end of the service they are brought back inside, to the parking areas permitted for two-wheeled vehicles. The Cityscoot service will be available to those over 91 years of age and will initially be free for those who register via the app. The booking system is entirely connected and very simple: simply download the Cityscoot application on your smartphone and use it to locate the nearest available scooter, check the battery charge and book it for free for 18 minutes, so as to have time to reach it . To unlock it, the user can use the app or the scooter display and enter the 10-digit code received at the time of booking confirmation on the scooter's keyboard, and thus start the rental. “We are very proud to bring Cityscoot to Milan, a city at the forefront of sustainable mobility. Cityscoot was born from the belief that the transport of the future must be 'zero emissions' and 'zero noise'” - Said Gianni Galluccio, General Manager of Cityscoot Italia -. With a fleet of 100% electric scooters, including vehicles for maintenance and battery charging, Cityscoot will make the city less noisy and less polluted, helping to change citizens' travel habits in favor of more ecological and sustainable means of transport. We want to be the largest and most efficient scooter sharing service in Milan. We will also soon activate a series of special projects with the aim of improving the culture of sharing mobility".
