Presented by OCT, Dell'Orto, Energica, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), during a one-day event of the Lombardy Region “Call-Hub: ideas that innovate”, a new project CEMP (Connected Electric Modular Powertrain) focused on sustainable innovation for urban light mobility.

Information

Considering the project, in addition to the system components, services are created that can evolve on the basis of a collaboration model open to external public and private entities, such as local administrations, insurance companies, road infrastructure and fleet managers linked to sharing services and others .
The partnership aims to develop an urban laboratory near UNIMORE's Mantua headquarters, in which to test a new mobility ecosystem considering the impact in the environmental, social and technological fields, as reported.
Despite considering the difficult situation, the CEMP partnership is oriented towards recovery, signing an agreement with the Lombardy Region in the midst of lockdown and finishing “sustainable solutions for individual mobility in cities”, without delays and with a spirit of adaptation to the tools and the context, as reported.
CEMP is, in addition to other initiatives, winner of the funding call that promotes international research and innovation in the area. An electric propulsion project "intelligent" addressed to scooter e mini cars, recognizable by the criterion of “sustainability in energy, environmental and safety terms.”
The symbiosis between electric drive, connectivity and driving assistance solutions (ADAS) involves, as indicated:
– Zero emissions of carbon dioxide, pollutants and particulates in the exhaust, thanks to the compact and high-efficiency electric propulsion
– Streamlining of traffic thanks to the characteristics of light vehicles and active monitoring systems of urban flows and collective driving style
– Preventive reduction of accidents with native ADAS systems (intelligent speed limiter, blind spot detection, forward collision warning) and assistance in case of emergency (E-call)
