Bridgestone Battlax SC Ecopia, efficiency watchword

Green tire designed for maximum energy savings

As already happens in the automotive field, even among the manufacturers of two-wheel tires they are starting to look, in addition to handling, stability, durability and driving comfort, also the side of energy saving. The new Battlax SC Ecopia by Bridgestone it is an efficient tire, thanks to the 15% improvement in rolling resistance. It is designed to be mounted on all maxi scooters with measurements of la 120 / 70R15M / C 56H for the front e 160 / 60R14M / C 65H e 160 / 60R15M / C 67H for the rear. Among the scooter models for which the Battlax SC Ecopia are available: BMW C 600 Sport, C 650 GT and the new electric version C Evolution; Suzuki AN 650 Burgman; Yamaha TMAX.

Compared to the Battlax SC1 (which remains in the price list), the new Ecopia has been modified by working on three factors that directly influence the rolling resistance of the tyre: the compound, the shape of the tire and its construction. Lower rolling resistance indicates less energy required for movement, which therefore leads to lower fuel consumption.

The silica-rich compound uses Bridgestone's exclusive Nano-Pro Tech technology, which works at the molecular level to reduce the heating caused by rubbing between the different elements of the compound, thus reducing the loss of energy and rolling resistance.

Shape optimization and the construction of the tire allow you to further minimize energy loss by reducing the deformation of the tire during rotation: Bridgestone uses already proven technologies, Mono Spiral Belt Construction and High Tensile Super Cord, which help to keep temperatures low avoiding deformation and maintaining high grip, stability and performance over mileage.

The new Bridgestone Battlax SC Ecopia, will be available from January 2014.
