Brammo on the market with Empulse R

Innovative technologies for the road version of the Empulse RR

After having excelled in world-wide competitions, Brammo tries with the market. Last month, the Team Icon Brammo won the Grand Prix final TTX GP 2012 at Daytona with the new Empulse RR, driven by the driver Steve Atlas. The victory was made possible thanks to the successes achieved earlier during the TTXGP Championship held in North America in 2011 and 2012.

Brammo's racing success lies in the development of innovative technologies which, in turn, drive the company's commercial success. Among these the Empulse R, road version of the Empulse RR, features the world's first 6-speed transmission for an electric motorcycle, a water-cooled electric motor and the IET™ gearbox. These innovations allow the motorcycle to reach speeds above 100mph/160kmh.

The Empulse and Empulse R use the world's first drivetrain designed and built for the production of electric motorcycles. The drivetrain features the water-cooled AC Permanent Magnet motor, the high-performance 6-speed IETTM mechatronic propulsion unit and the Brammo BPM 15/90 battery modules. It also provides both models with rapid acceleration, sustained high speed and industry-leading range.

Unique for a production electric motorcycle, both Empulse models feature the J1772 Level II charging system, allowing riders to get the most out of every charge at the charging stations that are spreading to cities around the world . The Empulse and Empulse R can be fully recharged in just 3,5 hours, and every 10 minutes of random charging adds up to 5 miles of range. With a little planning, today, a trip of about 200 miles can easily be achieved.

Thanks to their appearance and increased transport capacity, the Empulse and Empulse R are among the most desired electric motorcycles in the world today. The innovative Brammo Power 15/90 battery, thanks to its energy density, is able to provide the Empulse with formidable performance.
