Brembo: acquisition of SBS Friction announced
Integration of brake pads into the product portfolio
Brembo has signed an agreement for the acquisition of 100 percent of the capital of SBS Friction A/S, a Danish company that produces brake pads in sintered and organic materials for motorcycles, which are particularly innovative and eco-friendly.

An operation which, as indicated, allows the Group to integrate brake pads into its two-wheel product portfolio, strengthening its leadership in a strategic sector. It provides for a consideration of 224 million Danish crowns, equal to approximately 30 million euros, paid using available liquidity and is subject to the usual adjustment mechanisms envisaged for similar transactions. From what has been reported, the value of the transaction (enterprise value) corresponds to 300 million Danish crowns, approximately 40,3 million euros. The agreement is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2021.
The acquisition is aligned with Brembo's new mission which aims to become an authoritative “solution providers”, responding to the new paradigms of sustainable mobility and refining the driving experience.
Brembo President Alberto Bombassei expressed satisfaction for welcoming this reality into the Group, declaring: “Despite a particularly complex market context, Brembo's natural propensity to invest in innovation does not stop. The acquisition represents an important piece of our strategy: it allows us to integrate even more specific skills in a key area and to further strengthen our offer of "made in Brembo" products for the benefit of our customers."
