BMW S 1000 XR, the Adventure Sport debuts in Milan [LIVE PHOTOS]

BMW S 1000 XR – The BMW S 1000 XR is the fourth model in the family of powerful, sport-oriented motorcycles equipped with four-cylinder in-line engine. In particular, this model is part of the category adventure sports which combines dynamic touring qualities with sporty performance and high comfort. The new BWM Motorrad model was presented today at the opening of the seventy-second edition of the Milan International Motorcycle Show, currently taking place at the Rho Fair.

The four-cylinder in-line engine of the new BMW S 1000 XR is essentially derived from that of the Roadster S 1000 R and is capable of delivering 160 CV at 11.000 rpm reaching a maximum torque of 112 Nm at 9.250 rpm. The inline four-cylinder combines its own elasticity and starting ability with high peak power, offering the driver a usable rpm range of over 10.000 rpm and through which he can enjoy sporty touring driving on curved extra-urban roads or during a pleasant journey with luggage on board.

The BMW S 1000 XR offers riding modes “Rain” and “Road”, to adapt the vehicle to the characteristics of the road, and a high level of driving safety through optimal traction is ensured by Automatic Stability Control ASC (Automatic Stability Control), as standard. There cycling of the new Adventure Sport S 1000 the front and rear wheel suspensions are respectively an upside down fork and a double wishbone with an adjustable central monoshock.

The new BMW S 1000 This is reflected in every design element and determines a distinct and fascinating presence, thanks to the perfect ergonomics, the sophisticated wind and weather protection system, the spring travel extended by 20 – 30 mm and the increased height from Earth. Regardless of whether it's mountain passes or trips on extra-urban roads, motorway driving or routes on rough surfaces, the new S 1000 XR is capable of managing the entire repertoire.
