A summary of the new Bavarian Sport Touring, redefined from a technical point of view

The quality characteristics

At first glance it appears finely aerodynamic, with particular attention to the protection from the flows of the body and legs of the driver, in light of the interventions on the hull and the presence of an adjustable windshield, as well as another optional one which is 50 more extended millimeters, as reported. The project is characterized by a less heavy double-spar aluminum frame and the engine appears as a stressed body. The upside-down front telescopic fork has a diameter of 45 mm and extension from 150 mm. The rear subframe has also been renewed and equally lightened, just as the reconfigured swingarm (150 mm extension) is also less burdensome, giving shape to this "Flex Frame" structure, which overall contributes to maintaining the data in running order at 226 kg, always taking the data back. The braking system includes a dual front disc scheme 320 mm with four-piston radial calipers and a single element behind, linked to a single-piston floating caliper, from 220 mm. The rims are also lighter 17 inches. The overall setup with a more compact handlebar is therefore interesting 30 mm and anti-vibration elements, therefore the same more tapered frame which favors a more connected position in the saddle, advanced 20 mm. A technical framework also characterized by a longer wheelbase at altitude 1.552 mm, the inclination of the steering head brought to 65,1° and a forward figure slightly reduced compared to the past, now 116 mm, to favor the general dynamism of the vehicle.

The engine

The propulsion unit, related to the one that pushes the spirit S 1000 RR, is composed of four in-line cylinders for 999 cc and is linked to a transmission with ratios reconfigured according to delivery and efficiency, as well as a system MSR release torque management and slipper clutch. Four driving programs indicated, ranging between Rain , Road, Dynamic e DynamicPro, together with a further detailed overview of devices that strengthen the technical qualities of this specimen Sports Touring. Expressed a maximum power of 165 horses a 11.000 rpm e 114 Nm of torque a 9.250 rpm.

Colors and prices
